But can the X-Men hear her if she doesn't tell them to do so?•• I can't tell if this is meant as humor, sarcasm or over-literalization.

The somewhat more subtle detail of the shuttle bay doors warping/bending as a result of the crash forces is a nice touch too...

That last panel of Phoenix is just... wow... love the "throw-back" to the original uniform details with the smaller phoenix and the line down the front.————- That type of attention to detail and style in this sort of scene shows respect for the work that came before his, and is one of the many reasons for my appreciation of JB’s work. It seems to be a rare trait to find in comics.

Sorry, it was an attempt of a funny comment about the differences in the speeches. In the original comic book, she starts with "Hear me, X-Men!" Here, it's just "I am Phoenix!!"

I think I mentioned I was quite surprised to be reminded, drawing this, how SMALL the Phoenix emblem was. About the same size as the clasp on her sash.ELSEWHEN has been an odd little cascade of realizations like that, from noticing for the very first time that I drew Colossus' belt buckle differently than Dave (without any intent of doing so) to FINALLY figuring out how Nightcrawler's "eyebrows" work. And much in between.

I loved the callback in that next-to-last panel of the first Phoenix appearance, with Cyclops' head half-submerged near Storm (who seems to be swimming better than Scott was).

I can't add much besides enjoying the compressed story on these pages (with no doubt there's more to come!) and that shot of Phoenix. The perspective ALONE makes it worthwhile, but everything about it is SO beautiful! I hope you don't mind the gushing sir, but OH! It is SO DAMNED GOOD!

Looks like #125 is the first issue where Phoenix's emblem is larger, which is also (not coincidentally?) the first issue where Mastermind starts manipulating Jean.

And any changes to Jean's uniform always made sense as she is quite literally creating it each time she changes her clothing into it, so its easy to see how it could evolve.

Technically, we could think of the costume as Jean’s skin—tho that paints a nasty picture when it gets ripped.
