Incredible - these pages are fantastic, JB. It would be enough to just have an
X-Men story, but the way you have weaved the rest of the Marvel Universe
makes this such a rewarding read. Today's page, especially - Wolverine is so
tough that nothing seems to harm him, but the pain and danger of the situation
is palpable. And the moment with Pablo is just perfect.

For some reason today's page made me realize how much Wolverine is
condemned to loneliness by his psychology.

He is quite dog-like in many respects -- loyal and sacrificing for his friends,
but not quite of the same mental "species" and regularly doomed to cause a
trouble for them as a result.

No one can ever truly soothe him.

Would Wolverine's healing factor repair a dislocated joint? Like a
shoulder with the humerus out of socket?

I was (wrongly) thinking of Mariko until I saw Ryan's post.

I’m sat here in bed, staring @ my collection of Eaglemoss Marvel
figures & my eyes fall on my X-Men set (I have the figures arranged in
‘families’).

Although I met the X-Men with a UK reprint of X-Men 1, I have to admit
that my favourite group was & remains the All New, All Different X-Men
from the reboot.

This possibly explains why I am enjoying Elsewhen more than Hidden
Years, which is not to say I didn’t like Hidden Years, but Elsewhen is
like seeing characters that have been irreparably damaged over the
years have all that damage healed.

These are tales of them all @ the height of when I loved their
characterisation.

Probably the only thing about Mantlo's ALPHA FLIGHT that I liked was revealing Heather to be the one to calm down Wolverine after he first discovers his claws:

He also added that Wolverine was in love with Heather as a result, which was an influence in him leaving to join the X-Men. That one I'm not sure how I feel about.

And don't get me started on the first panel's bottom line being used as a floor...

(I kid! I kid!)
