Was just watching  the video "An Advance Look At Marvel Collected Editions January to April 2020!!" on Near Mint Condition on Youtube and saw this fantastic news. JB's entire run of Sensational She-Hulk is getting an omnibus! I'm so excited about this. Omar gets his advance solicitations from David Gabriel at Marvel so I'm pretty sure this is the first announcement of this. Skip to 1:04:41 if you want to just hear about it and see the details of what all it collects.

Neil, I was going to buy the TPBs but the first volume of She-Hulk is OOP and going for quite a bit. You can get the whole Omnibus for cheaper than it costs to get the two soft covers (as long as you use one of the half price or so off sites like instocktrades or Amazon). Plus this omni has the She-Hulk graphic novel (and I think some excerpts from Marvel Comics Presents but not sure what that entails) which I believe is not included in either the first or second softcover collection of JB's run. I just wish Marvel would hurry up and reprint the second Uncanny X-Men Omnibus and the second JB FF Omnibus so I can get those as well without having to pay exorbitant aftermarket prices since they are OOP.

As an aside, has anyone noticed how much She-Hulk 34, 40., and 43 are going for on Ebay? I can't remember which, but one of those three was on the top 10 hottest back issues a few weeks back.

The Canadian dollar is taking a shit-kicking right now
too, so I feel your pain. The Doom Patrol Omnibus
currently showing at $65 on Amazon US is $100 on the
Canadian site.

It'll be nice to have them all in one place, tho I am not looking forward to the super white, shiny paper.

Awesome news!! It will be great to have the two series
together.

I hope they include the graphic novel, even though it was
in the second "universe" omnibus.

I have been on an Omnibus buying spree and I agree that the out of print.  books are a pain, I don’t want to buy an omnibus not knowing if they plan to reprint the other books and refuse to spend the crazy prices people want for the OOP books. I am also waiting to purchase some Omnibus series for that reason.

I have a few Omnibus collections — but I don’t love the paper and I find them hard to read because of their size... they aren’t comfortable to hold imho. I prefer tpb’s.

Neil and everybuddy,

I am very grateful to have gotten into the omnibus buying craze, JUST before it became a craze.  There have been a few that I have had to buy on the secondary market, but so far, none have been prohibitively expensive.

As you probably know, the MARVEL omnibuses seem to be in much higher demand than the ones produced by DC.  Also, I prefer the non-modern, direct market variant covers to the newly drawn mass market covers - and this can also be very expensive when trying to find/buy them after they are out-of-print.

Which are you currently seeking that seem to be eluding you?

Don’t have my list on hand but I found the same problem when I was buying Marvel Masterworks 20 years ago. I also got burned on the Star Trek Gold Key hardcover reprints (they cancelled the printing with one volume unpublished, ruining the complete set) so I am reluctant to buy other volumes in a series with no guarantee of future reprints. I don’t care about the covers of the reprint editions. Would love to get the above omnibuses mentioned (FF and X-men) but won’t until they announce reprints of the currently unavailable editions, especially since they are going for crazy amounts on the secondary market.

I remember being excited when they started to release the Complete Young Indiana Jones on VHS. It was expensive but I bought them all, only to find out later that they did not plan to complete the series. I don’t trust publishing companies anymore.
