I thought the same thing Eric. First time I've seen that cover!

May be the closest I get to seeing JB do an Atlas character!

I never thought about it before but these MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS issues make it clear--JB does an especially good job with anthology covers!

JB really seemed to get Warlock. Not many artists after Bill S did.

Arthur Adams's and Bret Blevins's Warlock were both very much their own takes on the character rather than being Sienkiewicz's. Both had a wackiness and unpredictability to their form, but they were three-dimensional and had a sense of boundaries to them.

JB's here returns the character to his flat yet personable ink-smudge-style origins. What I find interesting is the manner in which the Marvel characters lining up to have their picture taken mirror the art styles of the pin-ups inside. I can't recall offhand who did the Hela and Green Goblin pages inside (Charles Vess?,) but JB's depiction of them matches what's inside, as does his very Simonson-esque Thor. Yet they all look comfortable standing next to one another in the same picture. That's quite the tricky balancing act.

Also fun is wondering who that figure is with the red cape and red boots walking away from the platform...

Wait--why is Dracula waiting to take a picture?!?  That's not going to work!

I also notice that he is not reflected in the Silver Surfer's board... Perhaps he's just lurking about waiting to take a bite of Clea when no one is looking.
