Wow, I used to love the TV show as a kid, never knew of it's comic book format. To know of this comic's existence AND that JB had a hand in it's creation, poof my head!

I've known that JB did the art for this issue, but haven't gotten around to picking a copy up yet, so this is the first time I've actually seen it.
And I don't know what was the first occurrence of Byrne Robotics, but it was also used on at least one issue of Doomsday +1 from around the same time period.

I really, really wish I had my copy of SPACE: 1999 where the Alphans meet the Greek gods. I remember a Cyclops and a crushed Eagle that were just amazing...and Neptune stuck his trident *through* an Eagle, IIRC. Lost it in a move from Wisconsin to New Jersey back in '76... darn it.

"The Gods of Planet Olympus". That was a fun one. Kind of like "Who Mourns for Adonais" on steroids.

JB - was Byrne Robotics credited because you had assistants?

Yup. As I've mentioned before -- it's no secret -- the girlfriend of one of my Art College buddies had lost her job, which left them crimped for cash. Since I was not so crimped, by mid 70s standards, I hired her to rule borders and spot blacks. I wasn't sure Charlton would approve, but I also didn't want to flat out lie in the credits, and thus the original Byrne Robotics was born.

This thread has proven a bit of a trip down Memory Lane. Nicely timed, too. On Monday I have agreed to be interviewed for a documentary about Charlton. At this point I have no idea how large or small my contribution will be, but reading here has stirred up some old memories that may prove useful.
