No, it's realism. Unless something changes in the polls in the next three weeks, I have little doubt that Biden will receive enough votes to win the election. I do have substantial doubt that all votes cast will be counted, however. The SCOTUS has already given indications it is ready and willing to throw out ballots for arbitrary reasons.

Joe,
I also think you are misreading the thrust of the thread - people aren't mourning his "loss" - they are concerned about his WINNING and having that win stolen from him by Trump appointed judges.

Who removes Supreme Court justices? Congress, Senate or the President? And can a president veto or block it?
*************************************
House brings up charges, Senate votes on it. President can't do shit about it. Look up "Samuel Chase" if you want to get an idea of the process.
Something to remember: The Constitution states that Justices "shall hold their Offices during good behavior." If they steal the election, that's not good behavior.

Impeaching a Supreme Court justice (or any other federal judge) requires a two-thirds majority vote by the Senate. That's not going to happen anytime in the near future. It's really too bad the founding fathers did not think to also make a two-thirds requirement for confirming judicial nominees. That would have prevented all the problems we are having now, and really would be a commonsense rule to reduce politicization of judicial appointments.

What gets me is the outright display of primate dominance. There's a "good faith" argument to not filling vacancies immediately before a presidential election, and even a lame duck vote in defiance of the will of the electorate would be at least responsive to voters. If the Senate votes before the election, it's an outright expression of contempt.
The Constitution presumes the Senate will approve presidential appointments. The founders didn't anticipate this kind of dysfunctional gamesmanship.

What gets me are the republican controlled state Legislatures that are already signaling they intend to dispute mail-in vote "Irregularities" and appoint their own special electors to award their state's electoral votes to Trump in these "Disputed" cases, and apparently that is legal and won't be stopped.
The Democratic Governors will send the regular Electors to vote along with the popular vote, The republican Legislature will Send their electors to vote for Trump, and the following court battles and appeals will eventually get decided by the Supreme-and-aligned -with-Trump, Court. Is there some Process or maneuver To stop this?

CGP Grey just put up a very interesting (and typically entertaining) video about the 25th Amendment. There are nuances and potential clusterf*ckery I was unaware of.

And my greatest fear is possible violence. My nightmare is the electors submit their votes and Biden would be chosen; state legislatures decide that those electors don't represent the state's desires; and change electors.
The nightmare is that too many democrats feel that's the breaking point, and go after the states and the other electors. All of a sudden, it's hunting season; and the National Guard is against Trump. The chaos and bloodshed would be horrifying.
But how many Americans have had enough? How many people against Trump's dictatorship decide it's time to revolt? The twists, turns, and machinations, along with other disasters, have taken their toll on most of us. How many will stand up for what they believe is the salvation of the United States?
I believe that can happen and I believe another Revolution might destroy this country.

The efforts to suppress the vote are an old Republican song, but I don't recall that they have been so stupid as to be so overt about it. It's all in line with Trump's MO - all brash bravado in breaking the law as a mission to protect YOU from those evil Democrats.
The threat of violence by white supremecist para-military groups is real. Trump has given them more gasoline than they even needed to get the "fire and fury" going.

They can't really suppress our vote if the candidate doesn't even know what he's running for.
"I'm running as a proud Democrat for the Senate"

It's not even a case of suppressing the vote, it's more ignoring it. "Biden won the state by popular vote? Too bad, we're awarding the electoral votes to Trump anyway".
