Neither have I Brian. He isn’t going to give this up - not through an
election loss, not through a delayed election.

Everything he says points to a man that believes he has absolute
power, & that he can declare a situation where he believes he can say
no one can do better than he can & thus, can continue in power.

The collapse of the impeachment trial only strengthened that view in his
mind

Nice to see the idiots have decided to act like idiots & start protesting
@ their rights to assemble.
&, typical Trump, he refuses to say they are wrong when given the
opportunity but instead says he can understand why they are doing it.

What a leader

What a leader

===============================================

James, there was an interview with Gordon Brown on Hardtalk on BBC News last night.

Jesus. How refreshing to listen to someone with ideas and clarity on the whole situation that we are not seeing from our incumbent.

People may have their ideas on Brown, but what he said in the interview made a lot of sense and he had ideas how to drive the situation forward.

Number ONE  -  The World needs to work together and as one, and he believes that under Trump we have lost a lot of that.

History will judge this as one of the darker periods of American (if not world) history.

People knew this man was a grifter. But we (no...  the Electoral College let him in....a different subject all-together) voted for him.

The Senate had its chance to get rid of him, but bowed down in fear of retribution from his base.

About 30 days after that fateful decision, information was pouring in about the covid19 virus and 45 did NOTHING.

His response to was ZERO cases. It's a MSM and "Libruals" hoax.

32,000 deaths later.......

Now, we have historic levels of unemployment. Relief money that was supposed to go to people and business in need of relief has been grabbed up by folks that DO NOT NEED the money.

The U.S. Senate.  Cowards!!!  All of them!!!

Hate to say it, but we are getting our just desserts. We, as a people, voted these bastards in.

Trump fired off a series of tweets earlier that many saw as inciting violence, urging his supporters to 'LIBERATE' several states with Democratic governors.

Liberate from WHAT?? Trying to slow the spread of a deadly virus? WTF does the 2nd Amendment have to do with it??? He's just trying to get a Civil War started, isn't he?

-C!

This is exactly what the founding fathers spent so much time debating
over. State rights being trampled and/or ruled by a powerful federal
government.

All I see are the same hand gestures and individual words and phrases each time: "tremendous", "strong", "working", "phenomenal"... "we'll see what happens", "very very"... he seemed to drop "believe me" finally after that was mocked as the absurdity it has been coming from him. Can't say there is absolutely no progress.

Still, a very worn and tired routine to have to sit through every day, maybe the point is to wear others out with it? he tries to be his own charming good Trump/scary name-calling Trump team but it's amazing it could work on even children at this point. Are these Republicans, and others, really so afraid of a leader of a load of internet bullies? He calls a name and they pile on like programmed bots, but if his wife can speak out against bullies...

Strange days have found us.

I'm tempted to hope these protests (supported and promoted by the far right groups behind them) really take off and all the idiots can get nice and close to each other right now.

It's a pretty cute trick! McConnell won't allow a vote on the second small business pay outs (after the first was quickly grabbed by large business and even lobbying offices claiming to be small business), and he gets to blame the democrats for forcing business to close in the first place. More people in desperation in the streets demanding to re-open = seeming support for Trump. A sick bit of calculus but it has paid off many times before. Variations of the old divide and conquer naturally, with many scrambling to be on the 'winning' side for various reasons (while actually the country/civilization/functionality is continually weakened).

I hate to say it but there is some truth that many Dem governors and mayors etc. have applied European socialist responses inappropriately and too extremely in some cases, and the people where the first wave is barely hitting (bolstered by lack of testing and sometimes under-reporting numbers of deaths) can't see much other than they are paying a high price for a tiny amount of others statistically. A more centrist party would've avoided the extremes, but things are very extreme politically these days... the extremer left wanting a different country entirely with a revolution, the extremer right wanting to go back to some greater time for them, and the old silent majority batted like a tennis ball in-between?

I see a lot of home-made signs in the 'liberate' from quarantining protests, so you can't say they are puppets of Trump, he's more like jumping in front of a crowd that was building (and he gets as much as two hours each day to rally with). You are almost at 1 out of 4 virus deaths being in the U.S. now, so that's not going well anyway, couldn't be much worse really, you are doing the worst in the world by a factor near three now, but I think the big numbers if they get reported will be coming up for many areas. Online there is a lot of deliberate misinformation and nasty sorts of blame games, even a 'boomer remover' thing for young people assuming they are immune and that the world will be better without a lot of old people sucking up their air.

I’m actively hoping that.
