So instead you trust the objectivity of people inclined to negatively spin everything they say/do?
QUOTE:
- late term abortion fine |

When the health of the mother is in question or when the baby is going to be non-viable? Well, yes.
QUOTE:
- after birth, sure why not |
|

Not based on actual reality.
If you want to argue the bills are poorly phrased and could have unintended consequences, that's fair. But acting like The Left believes that a woman can give birth, take one look at their newborn, decide that they'd really much rather have one with blue eyes and then tell the doctor to let it starve to death, you're out of your damn mind.
QUOTE:
- illegal alien kills us citizen, isolated incident. |
|
|
Well, yes. Treating individuals as individuals is something that's supposed to be encouraged. Same reason you don't throw all white people in jail when a white guy shoots up a church in the name of white supremacy. The question is whether or not illegals are more or less likely to commit crimes than US citizens. Stats say it's less. I know that's cold comfort to the poor unfortunates who ARE the victims of crime. (See also - victims of any crime despite hearing how "crime has been declining for years" or people who can't find a job even though they hear about "record low unemployment" on the news, etc.)
QUOTE:
- ms13 are humans too, anyone wearing a maga hat is not |
|
|
Some MAGA hat folks get an unfair shake, it's true.
I don't recall an up-swell in sympathy for MS-13, unless you're doing the standard right wing media thing of conflating migrants and asylum seekers with gang members.
If you're going to bemoan people overgeneralizing enthusiastic Trump supporters as racists, you need to not do the same with others.
QUOTE:
- send billions in aid to foreign countries, won’t spend 5 for a wall |
|
|
Sending billions to foreign countries furthers our national interests. Building a pointless wall does not. (Understanding why the wall is pointless would require removing the filters you've acknowledged won't let any counterarguments through so I won't waste our time. But they're covered elsewhere in this thread.)
QUOTE:
- putting our own people first is evil |
|
|
No, engaging in racist behavior in the name of "putting our own people first" is evil. You don't have to separate families at the border to "put our people first". You sure as hell don't need to do it without bothering to have a mechanism to reunite the families to "put our people first."
(There's also some argument to be made as to how good a job he's doing when it comes to "putting our people first", but that's another topic.)
QUOTE:
- I could keep going but they lost me at hello |
|
|
Given that you can't be bothered to actually understand what their points of view are rather than getting the right-wing filtered version of same and calling it a day, you didn't even bother getting to hello.
If you want to be a right wing parrot, more power to you. But own it.

I ignored nothing. You point to some band-aids and suggest that the gaping wound is of no consequence. I am really glad that I don’t know you. Get out and talk to real people who are different than you. I can see that winning a message board argument is your true aim. Have fun with that.

Trump came out and called ms-13 animals which I think got a racist reaction out of the media, but I am paraphrasing the part where Nancy pilocy came out defending them by saying “it is not nice calling anyone animals”

Did she then turn around and say that everyone wearing a MAGA hat WAS an animal?

Don't think so, but most of the left, from the news, Hollywood, and Democrats have done all they can to demonize people wearing them. The new KKK, which is bullshit.

Debating the finer points of a debate, like if a woman's pregnancy will literally threaten her life can be debated on forever, so it's hard to go down that road.
My main stance on it is to extend as far as I can to Democrats to keep it legal, because I can agree there would be situations where I would consider it (severe deformity for example). But where we diverge is when poaple start looking at it as a good thing, and awesome thing, and at least one hollywood woman with mental problems said, "I wished I had an abortion." To me, the correct stance is to shun it no matter what, even if I got one because of deformity, I should never be glad about it or throw a party over it. I should feel terrible for ever being in that situation.
So If I reached out my hand in a shared goal of keeping it legal, I would want their side to agree that we should do all we can to discourage casual use of that freedom. That a teen that want to do it "to get rid of the inconvenience" should be shown what happens during the procedure, and have to listen the the babies heart beat before she does it.
So a video I saw recently made some good points about what can be debated and what will never be agreed on, it should be determined if you have a shared goal or not. If not, there will be no winner in the debate, only a winner of the war.
Only 4 and a half min Why you can't argue with a Leftist

Thomas, how do you feel about Trump swelling the deficit by 2 trillion dollars in just two years?
As Trump-supporters are keen to point out, tax revenues are at their highest ever. Pretty poor show then to be spending so much that the deficit is ballooning at such a frightening rate.

From what I've seen in this thread, there are very few actual leftists on this board. Unless you consider people like Schumer, Pelosi, and Joe Biden leftists. Then you just have no understanding of politics. Or are so far to the right that you think Reagan was soft on communism.

I don’t like it. The commentators I trust jnow a lot more than I do do not like it. I guess there is hope that he will focus on fixing that at some point and that we just have to put up with it for now cause the alternative is worse.
