The Republican leadership (such as it can be called that) told Trump not to pick Kavanaugh, so why are they such a bunch of absolute wimps about approving him a.s.a.p. now? The only reason Trump even wants him is he's the guy on record as saying presidents shouldn't be indictable/investigated/subject to the constitution, which alone ought to keep this mess the heck out of such a high court even if it were not under these circumstances. Could the situation be any less obvious? And yet it would take the turning up of an old sex assault as a last ditch reason for not approving him
Before casting self-righteous stones at Canada for protecting the integrity of it's food supply on dairy (and I am for bending a little on that), how about getting your own heavily subsidized industries in order like paying farmers not to grow and bail outs all over the place etc.? Plus just basic operations of government and law and order now are out of order which never used to be in such question. Yet still there are people, even in Canada, I presume heavy internet surfers, who believe 'fully transparent' Trump over a vast conspiracy of liars in the government/media/law enforcement out to get him! Bring back the people with experience and qualifications and boot out or lock up these long-standing con men caught again and again with foreign agents and paying supporters in various ways including directly. Money laundering, lying to federal agencies, tax evasion, colluding with hackers... and yet it'll be something to do with a porn star that probably does anything, so bizarre. :^(
The information in Active Measures should've been part of every regular news program rather than the endless cooking segments and movie trailers.

Trump's comments have become increasingly pro-Kavanaugh to the point now where he advises Americans to pray for him and his family. Yeesh! He was told by the Republican leadership not to pick this guy but did, probably because of his stated views that presidents should not be investigated and should be able to override the constitution!!! That alone should keep anyone but particularly Republicans who want their party to survive Trumpism from confirming the choice never mind some sexual abusive stuff in the closet, but yet again the the supposedly lurid or salacious ranks way ahead of even the most serious real concerns.
Then we have people supposedly so against bullying and stupidity they harrassed Ted Cruz right out of a restaurant. This makes sense how? Thanks for making Cruz's day, now he gets to claim victimhood and say 'see, I told you so'... but Kavanaugh gets to claim his family and he receive death threats too just like his accuser has (but for her they have had to relocate). As far as I know Cruz wasn't accused, so why the women victims/survivors targeting him in a restaurant? If they could chant at Trump at least he has many times the number of claims against him by women as Kavanaugh has, that's at least make some kind of sense. SJWs? No, just more people freaking out in public and pulling stunts. Bleh.

I can give the benefit of the doubt - maybe one or more of the Kavanaugh accusers are lying. But still, I consider all this karma for the above ^.

What a surprise:
If you say so, President 45. You're never wrong after all...
Is he really lacking in self-awareness?
It's like that "covfefe" thing. A normal person would have said, "Yes, I hit 'send' and hadn't typed out the correct word. My bad." But, no, 45 had to pretend it was on purpose.
What does "Despite negative press covfefe..." even mean?
The man cannot take ownership of anything negative.

The sad thing is that many people will believe that they were laughing with him, not at him and this is once again the fake news attacking the poor man. Just like he never made fun of a handicapped man. Sigh.

Let's not be obtuse about this...I think it's fairly obvious that he meant to type "coverage". It's still an extremely insignificant gaffe that he should have just owned up to, but there are plenty of more legitimate things to criticize him for.

There are, Vinny, but I think it gave me an insight into his mind. After the "covfefe" thing, I realised, without a doubt, that this was a man who could never take ownership of a gaffe.
Expanding on that, if he can't own up to a typo/gaffe, what can he own up to? If you lack the self-awareness to take ownership of a gaffe, then you certainly won't take ownership for larger and more serious mistakes.
Anyone who can't own up to a typo is certainly not going to allow himself to be held accountable over anything important.

I don't disagree with that. My issue is just with people pretending to not understand what he meant to write.

The covfeve gaffe, like the acquisitions/accusations gaffe in the tweet above that Neil posted, shows just how slapdash his attention to detail is. These are tweets that are going to be seen by thousands and thousands around the world and he clearly can't be bothered to look back over his ramblings to check for typos.
What does that bode for his attention to detail in other aspects of the role?
