Eric K. - it would be horrifying to think of 45 being HALF as smart as Sathanas.

There should be no doubt that Russian interfered with all American elections to a degree for the past 60 years. Just like America had done so around the world. To what degree it was successful and the scope is why there is such interest now. The question on, Trump campaign. involvement with Russia is one that everyone seems to know the definitive answer except the one investigating. Everyone is acting like the sideshow is all there is because the actual show is not open yet.

I think Trump is neither smart enough or humble enough to be the "manchurian candidate". He would be tweeting only he can deal with the Russians because he was so successful doing it during the election.

So now Trump has intensified his attacks on Mueller, predicting the special counsel’s team will be “MEDDLING” in this fall's midterm elections in order to hurt GOP candidates. (Mueller is a Republican BTW.) During the election, he balked about a rigged election in anticipation of losing - now this clown is deploying the same strategy using Mueller as his foil should the Dems take over the House.

Quite the Twitter tantrum today!

Very specific accusation, as well. I continue to be amazed that so many
Americans are stupider than I am.

I think a lot of Trump supporters buying into all these conspiracies actually think everyone else is incredibly stupid. I mean, don't forget those two classified (for at least an hour until she made the phone calls mentioned in them that made them classified) emails that Hillary so recklessly could have had hacked from her private server (and forget if anyone else, well a couple dozen others, also used private servers before or since), anything must be better than that unleashing of chaos in the world order!!! Like a guy who's daughter just inked a lucrative brands deal with China. Canadian conflict of interest laws would have had Donald step down long before now. You should see how they grilled Justin Trudeau for a family vacation at a friend of his father's property as an abuse of power.

Trudeau caught hell for that trip. Good point of contrast, Rebecca. Fred hits the nail on the head. There are a great number of Americans that can be easily duped or lead around by a ring in their noses. They lack the basic skills to employ skepticism and logic to determine true from false. I think as the stakes have risen in American politics the constituency have become more ignorant. The US has a section of the population that Roman politicians would have called "the mob".

It's not that some of the positions Trump has taken are totally utterly wrong or anything. It's partly are they really his positions at all or will he say the opposite thing to someone else, and do they lack any real substance or are they just off the top of the head reactions to get approval in the moment. He seems to have tried on all kinds of positions so something he says is bound to be in line at some point with everyone or against. And then there is the actual man delivering the statements who is a joke frankly, but some still will prop up a hopeless mess hoping to get something they really want. A lot of things are delaying the inevitable it seems, and then you get that worry that somehow he will be above the law and make some really negative changes to how the U.S. operates to protect and benefit himself above all others. Loves loyalty but never shows it to anyone else, maybe not even to the country despite hugging a flag or any of that stage junk.

A lot of other people just want to grasp the pendulum and slow it from swinging too radically (or revolutionary) because the U.S had been working well in many ways.

Trump's pardon of conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, is a shining example of what a politically motivated, pardon from a President looks like. (D'Souza pleaded guilty to making illegal campaign contributions; he was convicted for violating US campaign finance laws.)

Let’s see, Joe Arpaio was convicted of obstruction, Libby was convicted of perjury, and now D’Souza who was convicted of illegal campaign finance. Think Trump is sending a message to anyone and everyone indicted by Mueller??

I am still seeing and hearing all these people saying how unfair others are to Trump, especially this media 'conspiracy' along with the FBI 'conspiracy' and people 'loyal' to Obama and Hillary... is that considered 'balance'? I always though 'conservatives' hated victims and whiners, and this guy seems to have massive entitlement issues.

He sure behaves like someone with a guilty conscience, could he not know this election was in fact rigged for him with an unprecedented amount of disinformation from Russia and funded by Russia by someone known to absolutely hate Hillary because of how she (effectively) dealt with Russia as Secretary Of State? People in parts of the U.S. were and still are getting different news from what we get outside of it. Some 'information age'.

Now Trump and his loyal apologists/defenders/whiners are throwing out as much misinformation and confusion, as if Trump had been to the same school as Putin. There is something going on that some people really don't want to know about, so they have to stick with getting known half-truths or outright fantasies from Fox's Hannity or RT News to keep up the illusion for themselves that they are getting the real conspiracy info? He pretty much turns on and maroons everyone you know if they aren't family. Oh, you don't know. Don't want to know... um, you can still remember what a democracy can be and why it's important (just putting it aside for awhile)?

The D'Souza pardon is most likely a sign of things to come.
