The FBI have raided the offices of Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

Trump angrily denounces the FBI raid on his lawyer’s office as “an attack on our country and all we stand for.”
Never heard him get worked up like that about the Russians! Go figure.

Pearl Harbor, 9/11, Russian hacks.... THOSE were attacks on our country. THAT is going after the guys who ignored an attack on our country and is/was (possibly? probably?) assisting in it.

It's Monday. This feels like it's going to be a roller coaster of week.
Sessions, Rosenstein, and Mueller all seem like it's only a matter of time before Trump unleashes his wrath on them.
Brian, my fear is that you're absolutely correct about Syria. He's been itching for a war since day one, and this presents an "opportunity" for him.

Brian M. - if Trump (or Sessions) fires Mueller, Trump's next act may as well be to start packing up his bags and children to leave office. The writing on the wall would be in neon green and billboard sized on the side of the Lincoln Memorial. The obstruction of justice and presumed acknowledgment of guilt would force Congress to begin impeachment proceedings... they just couldn't ignore it.
That's part of why the FBI was not dispatched by Mueller... so even if he's fired, there's still some other agency digging into Trump's dirty work.
This stagecoach is running uncontrolled downhill towards that cliff, and even the occasional turns and twists aren't going to stop its fall... merely delay it. That dirty S.O.B. is in BIG trouble, and his endless tweets of denials and claims of "Fake News" can't do anything about it.

I wish that were true. I used to believe we really did have a system of checks and balances, but the past year and a half has proven to me I was delusional about that.
Trump bragged he could shoot someone in Times Square and get away from it. Considering everything he has gotten away with so far, I think he really would get away with such a thing. Congress facilitates his nonsense, it hasn't done a damn thing to stop him. I doubt they'll truly do anything if he fires Mueller but give lip service.

Matt, you may be right. But I think that the Republicans couldn't condone an actual (and obvious, and stupid) criminal in the White House; they can't hitch their wagon to a black hole. I could be wrong - Americans have overlooked some tremendous failures and flaws - but I think business ties would start to strangle some Congress critters a bit too much.

Paul Ryan is done.
He secured a $1.5 trillion tax cut for his 1% overlords, including the including the Kochs. Those were the people he represented, not the 99% of Americans he was supposed to represent in "The People's House."
Good riddance to this spineless hypocrite.
