Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell... heck, ANY member of the GOP congress should be condemned for letting this slide.

What are they supposed to do about it, given that he was merely putting into vocal form the same the contempt which fuels the policies they collectively support?

Additionally, he has a) the loudest megaphone, b) the least compunction about using it, c) the unwavering support of the country's largest propaganda platform, d) publicly extinguished their most vociferous Republican critic and most importantly, e) has told them he'll pass anything they put on his desk.

It's a transaction they've clearly learned to live with.

The "this is just how people talk" ("kitchen table talk") argument does not wash. The President of the United States is not "people". He is the most powerful human being on Earth, and he must, by definition, be held to the highest standard.

Many's the time I have been excoriated for what was deemed unacceptable language (usually out of context), and I am nothing. I am less than lint on the Nation's tapestry. If I must be held to a high standard, how much more should we demand from the "leader of the free world"?

I actually think he believes it, Bill.

He's probably spent almost his entire life surrounded by sycophants. Imagine what that would do to a person (I am NOT defending that).

He can NEVER be wrong. Someone else is always at fault. The slightest criticism of him and his 'policies' is "fake news".

Pity the man. He truly has convinced himself that that is the reason he is not visiting London. Deep down in his psyche, he knows it's because of the planned protests, but consciously, he has 100% convinced himself that is not the case.

We watched the first episode of Letterman’s new Netflix show last night. Obama was his guest. Now THAT is how a president behaves.

Here's a (repeat) question: Did Trump use *campaign funds* to pay off women (some who were accusing him of sex crimes) a month before the 2016 presidential election?

Politicians usually have gotten in serious trouble for misusing funds in this way.

Anyone else salivating while we wait for Maher and Oliver to return to HBO with their next season?

Letterman's new show, "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction", was gold. I would love it if the late night talk shows would make Obama a regular guest so he was on television more and more.
