The problem, to me, is that even when 45's chickens come to roost, and karma lays a smackdown on 45, it's still the dignity, reputation, and spirit of the office of the President and of the USA that's going to get clobbered. There is NO WAY for us to get out of this morass easily or with self-respect. The damage the Republicans have visited upon our government and international status will take decades to resolve.
And what does it say about 45s voters? The word "deplorable" seems to remain applicable. And when the next despicable moron runs as a Republican, they will follow that same highway to hell, believing that THEY will be elevated and exalted... as if the next Dictator-in-Chief cares a whit about them.

There is no way that when the days come, and the process of removing Fart from office starts, be that through the ballet box or through the use of force (which I still think is a real possibility, possibly after the ballet box says he must go), that he agrees to go.
He will cling and cling and cling, whining, shouting, spitting, foaming at the mouth. Stiring up discord, racism, hatred. In all likelihood starting a Civil War.

"Obama did his best trying to rebuild it, but should have designated Biden as his successor, not another Clinton."
Biden could have announced his candidacy if he wanted. He didn't. Partly because as a good 'party man', he knew the gig was all but promised to Hillary. And he knew that if he was in the race he would have to tell some harsh truths about her.....he would have beaten her in the primary....and deprived the nation of following the first black POTUS with the first woman POTUS. The Dems were seeking 'history', not victory.
I have a feeling part of the agreement made between Obama and Hillary (and the DNC) in 2008 was that in exchange for Hillary pushing her supporters to Obama for the 2008 general election....Hillary gets the SOS nod if Obama wins and she gets ALL the support from the DNC in 2012.
We see how that turned out.

Trump, who recently said he would announce the “MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR ” next week, has been awarded the title of the World’s Most Oppressive Leader Toward Press Freedom by the Committee to Protect Journalists-
Trump’s latest media attacks have focused on Michael Wolff, whose new book "Fire and Fury" has made him flip his wig!! His "adviser" Stephen Miller sank to a new low over the weekend clashing with CNN's Jack Tapper in an interview discussing the book.

If anyone missed it, here's the Fusion GPS testimony that was released by Senator Feinstein that the GOP members of the committee didn't want you to see. Fascinating read (once you get past all the preliminaries): Link!

Oh, there will be no Civil War over it. The Secret Service will simply drag him out the door, and he'll try (and fail) to waste the time of the courts afterward.
I already said that I believe he will be the first president literally thrown out of the White House. As in the Secret Service actually drags him out the door and removes him from the premises. He will not concede defeat, and we'll have to listen to him rant and rave over it for years to come.

Conrad, man, is that document you linked to long. I'm less than 2/3 of the way through. Not sure I'd characterise it as largely fascinating, but there are some pretty dramatic nuggets. Prime amongst those is that -- according to Glenn Simpson's testimony -- not only did the FBI consider Chris Steele's memos to be credible, but that they had separate intelligence saying the same thing, including a source within the Trump organisation!

Pretty funny that the guy wanting to get rid of all the people that kneel for the National Anthem doesn’t even know the words to said anthem.

I'm inclined to give him a little benefit of the doubt on the anthem thing. I imagine it would be hard to hear the anthem being sung on the field and he might had only been able to hear portions of it, causing him to lose place. He also could have been distracted by a shiny thing in front of him, or a bug crawling on a marine, but we can't know for sure. What we do know is that probably tomorrow, he will tweet that he does know the anthem and knows it better than everyone else.

By all the known and forgotten deities of history, would that ignorance of the words to the National Anthem be the most egregious offense 45 commits against the United States!
Spoiler: It isn't.
The only thing harder to comprehend for me than the fact that this egotistic, unpopular, self-involved and self-aggrandizing, ignorant, contemptuous and contemptible person is president is that he STILL has support; he has STILL bamboozled voters who think he's give a shit for them (Spoiler: he doesn't); that some people who are in inhuman conditions think that Donald J., the hero of the pee-pul will swoop in to save them; and that he could care less about them. His approval, his praise, and his support of his fellow rich (and richer) associates are what matter to him.
And he seems to clutch at EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY to make himself seem worse. I mean, it isn't even that it's an occasional occurrence; he appears to search for such situations, and jumps in feet (and mouth) first!
My only slight optimism is that there seem to be enough people trending away from him that his decision to start a war In His Name might not be effective. But he's still seated with the powers of the President of the United States of America... and I dread every new day of his dictatorship-in-progress...
