News reports are claiming that 45's lawyer wrote the tweet.

------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------

As I understand it, whether written by Rump or his lawyer, it basically amounts to the same thing. The law doesn't really see a difference whether you avow of a crime, or your lawyer avows you of a crime.

The senate democrats are building a case. Could this be the begining of the end?

Would there be any chance of a deal for Trump?

Example: we drop any and all charges against you (if there are any) in return for you resigning and fucking off.

(A lawyer would put it better than I could).

I have no doubt that even if Trump is not implicated in the Russian dealings, he sooner or later will thoughtlessly do something that clearly deserves impeachment. However, there's no political case for impeaching Trump over Russia. Nobody is truly afraid of Russia, despite the media's attention over the years. The current international villains are Islamist extremists and North Korea. So long as Trump maintains a hard line against those two, his supporters are not going to abandon him.

Kind of. It wouldn't be Muller's team suggesting it, rather representatives of the Republican party convincing Trump to resign before he gets impeached (à la Nixon).

Meanwhile, Trump gives a big “fuck you” to native Americans today.

Of course, Andrew Jackson is his hero, so we really shouldn’t be surprised.

Is it now presidential to imply female U.S. senators are sluts and other nasty names?? (He claimed Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand “begged” him for campaign donations in the past and “would do anything for them.”)

Trump does this all this under a Twitter banner that says "Merry Christmas".... this guy is begging someone to put him out of his misery!

*sigh*

Undignified, eh? Bringing the Office of the President into disrepute. And although power and being in government seems to be the be-all and end-all for his cronies, I do wonder if Mike Pence is shaking his head behind the scenes.

There is zero dignity in the Office of the President now. And I'm sure many of his staff, both at cabinet and behind-the-scenes level, are having to do much "damage control". It's sickening.

It reminds me of when you have to look after someone's troublesome, misbehaving dog. You feel embarrassed. You know that you're gonna have to rein the dog in. You're know you're going to have to spend 90% of your time (if visiting, say, relatives) telling the dog to not bark, pulling it away when it lunges for someone, shouting at it every time it tries to cause destruction, etc.

45's staff know he is talking shite 99% of the time. And they have to sell it to the world. Where the dog analogy ends, though, is that someone like myself would say, "This dog is badly behaved, I'm so sorry. Naughty dog! I will take him home soon, he's not behaving at all." But with 45's sycophants, and even the non-sycophants, it's all about excusing his pathetic, uneducated actions.

Why doesn't he just resign?! Only when he does, can perhaps some dignity be restored to the Office of the President. I don't like what Pence stands for, or his policies on LGBT people, but I can't imagine him insulting 'fake news' and engaging in slurs towards folk on Twitter.

EDIT: And maybe when he does resign, he can start learning to spell. He can start learning about syntax, grammar, punctuation, etc. As flawed as my writing is - I am sure this post contains mistakes - his is worse. What's with the capital letters where they are not necessary? What's with the overuse of the exclamation mark? And the numerous incorrect spellings? This is a self-proclaimed 'educated' guy. Where did he learn English?

For argument's sake, it is possible that Trump's sexual harassment accusers are not telling the truth. But in this particular case, it doesn't even matter to me.

Why? Because Trump trotted out several women accusing Bill Clinton of the exact same thing in a heavily-coordinated press conference during his run for presidency. That event alone was what made me decide that I could never support this man - yet he's done so many other things since that people seem to have largely forgotten about that. Even if Bill Clinton was actually guilty of those accusations, it was still beyond comprehensible that a presidential candidate would stoop to such a petty tactic in order to taunt the person that he was actually running against, using the husband of said candidate as bait.

Guilty or innocent, this is just karma for that event, IMO. I say bring it on.

The dignity of the Presidency was destroyed in the decades which I call Bill and George's Great Adventure. Obama did his best trying to rebuild it, but should have designated Biden as his successor, not another Clinton.  Trump will surely fall one day, but not because he has failed to live up to a mythical idea of how an American President should behave.

I agree.

I do believe in innocent until proven guilty (and still do), but 45 throws around insults and accusations like confetti. So welcome to karma, 45! That theatrical nonsense in 2016 - I have no opinion on Clinton's innocence or guilt - was 45 being 45.

So maybe karma does exist. Perhaps one day 45 will learn not to throw around accusations. And he does. Not just about Bill Clinton's conduct, but about all sorts of things.
