My favorite punch shown so far is probably Doc Samson knocking out the Hulk. That was just one hell of a punch.

Another Perez Avengers. Ultron seems like he's rooted to the ground. Some guys can draw like the characters have real weight.

Wallace Sellars - why would you think Wonder Man shouldn't have an even
fight with Namor? It's been noted that his strength is in Thor's class, so I think
the two of them might be fairly evenly balanced in a fair fight (say, during a
rainstorm.)

Eric Sofer - Since Wonder Man's creation, readers have been beaten over the
head with the whole "second to Thor" in strength thing. That never felt right to
me, but even if Simon is that strong, I don't think he beats the Sub-Mariner. In
addition to having strength and toughness that has allowed him to go toe to
toe with the Hulk, Namor has a number of other abilities. Plus, the Atlantean
has decades of fighting experience that Wonder Man doesn't possess. It's very
easy to underestimate the Sub-Mariner, but this is a guy who's battled the FF
to a standstill, and one of only a few Marvel heroes who can claim clear wins
(plural) over the Hulk!

I've long been convinced the colorist was instructed to use those hues to defeat the purpose of the parallel panels.

I've never noticed that before, JB. But now... I can't not notice it! Argh!

The Hulk and Doc Sampson tilt rendered by JB resonates with me.  You can feel the mass and force behind the blows.  JB has an uncanny ability of illustrating weight transfer and effect....

...

I think that's what gives Namor the edge most of the time against Wonder Man. After all Simon was a business man before his change, that's tough to overcome against a warrior Prince. There is a version of the fight though, if Wonder Man can drag the fight out long enough keeping Namor away from water , I believe he would take him.

Wallace - I don't insist that Wonder Man would beat Namor, and I quite enjoy Namor; I think he has been misused and underestimated pretty often. So I agree with you on many points.

I'm just saying that Namor vs Wonder Man is a pretty even fight - moreso than Namor vs Daredevil, say (and yes, I know of Daredevil #7 - on my list of greatest comics ever. But Namor kicks the crap out of Daredevil in that book.)

At this late date, I'm not sure both of them don't have decades of experience; Simon has been Wonder Man since the late 70s, so we can't say who does or doesn't have experience on their side (even if Namor is almost 100.) But let's turn it a bit sideways; who wins in Thor vs Namor? Perhaps that provides a little different perspective.

Damn, that Romita punch is huge.

EDIT: Had to take a second look because I thought this was the Thing. Now I see it's Abomination. Geez, Hulk hit him hard enough to knock off scales? Yikes.

Damn, that Romita punch is huge. We almost never see anyone knocking
splinters off Ben's rocky hide.

That's the Abomination.

Thor wins. He has far more experience and that darn magic mallet on his
side.
