I saw that cartoon earlier and it has been one of my main thoughts over the last few weeks. I guarantee its hypocrisy is lost on many of the Leave campaigners. Why would Scotland require another Independence referendum? Because being part of the EU was one of the promises made by the No campaigners in our last one.
It is also telling that it has been mainly extreme far-right politicians in Europe congratulating the Leave vote. All we need.
Now it is starting to appear that some people voted Leave, but didn't really want to? Really? I despair for this country I really do.
Trump landed in Scotland today and tweeted that we took our country back last night....er, we voted to stay Don, lad.
Also hypocritically one of the Leave messages was the unelected European bureaucrats controlling decisions for us, when in fact most of our laws cannot be decided without a say-so from the unelected House of Lords - but that's okay (no offence intended to our resident Lord here). Apologies for what seems like a rant post, but interestingly enough the first democratic UK vote I ever took part in was for members of the European Parliament...am I dumb or something? What am I missing?
