In that case the Bad Byrne stories are spun by people who expected freebies even tho they'd brought books to sign. The best way to NOT get something free from me is to ask for it!

The best way to talk through life (much less through a con) is not
expecting to get anything for free.

The Star Trek convention in Las Vegas has been a ton of fun - come meet JB and get your Star Trek books signed!  Here's a pic of JB and Chris Ryall living long and prospering at the IDW booth:

I have never been to a Star Trek convention, and I regret not having come before.  The people are really wonderful and it's such a great vibe.  The panels have been really interesting.  IDW's panel was yesterday -- Chris Ryall did a great overview of JB's NEW VISIONS as well as all of JB's Star Trek work, and Sarah Gaydos covered the other Trek titles that IDW publishes.

Come by and say hello!

The problem these days, Fred, is that too many people have such an inflated sense of entitlement. Everyone feels like they are owed everything.

I'm a therapist as well as an old curmudgeon. You don't
have to tell me. I've seen the steady slide this way over
the past 20 years.

Wish I could come! Have fun all who were able to go. I hope there is an opportunity for a JB Board get together.

I'm finding that the older I get, the more curmudgeon-er I get.

Okay, I don't know whose picture I saw years ago (either here or on the official IDW website), but Chris Ryall looks completely different than I how I pictured him!

(Maybe someone else who works for IDW, who almost looks like a young, clean-cut Dolph Lundgren?)

Shaun, you're correct. Up until 6 years ago, Chris was a 5'3" African
American woman.

Uh oh. A positive Byrne story. JK Woodward, an artist who does some
great painted Comic work, posted on FB, "John Byrne just
complimented MY work. I have no words... #STLV50"

This may ruin everything!
