James,

Are you consistent/principled enough to INSIST that JB call Marvel by
their REAL NAME when he refers to them as M****L (and keep taking him
to task over and over again when he doesn't change his ways for you)?

Marc, I wish I would have thought of that example, good work!

I don't care that Fox News is the air and that they have a Republican bias,
just don't tell me I have to respect all the fact twisting and outright lying
and dubious "experts" they bring on to further their Republican agenda.
Having a conservative bias doesn't mean you're for every single thing the
Republicans are for. Even Pat Buchanan disagrees with the Republicans
once in a while, of course when he does Fox News is right there to trash
him.

So as far as I'm concerned it will always be Faux News to me.

Not good JB!!
I just figured since it bothered James it can't be complimentary!

I looked it up here is the definition.

Main Entry: faux
Pronunciation: 'fO
Function: adjective
Etymology: French, false
: IMITATION, ERSATZ <faux marble>

That's what I was going for, false.

I got what you were going for, Frank. But the gag is
strictly visual. Faux is pronounced FOE.

From what I've read here, JB refers to Marvel as M****L because it's no longer the company he used to work for and "respect" .  I'm sure JB will correct me if I'm wrong.  He's not changing the name, that is referring to them as Bendis Comics (like I've heard people at my LCS do) or something else.

Any arguement is pretty weak when the first thing used is an insult towards your opponent's name.

And besides, it's not like Fox news signed an agreement with a dictator to stay in his country, but only if they don't report any bad news from there.

Asterisks within words are used to indicate something has been left out, or is missing, as with kn*ck*rs, or kn*ck*rs, or s*mpr*n*, to borrow from Monty Python. I use M***** for the same reason. Anyone who thinks there is not much lacking in the current incarnation of the House of Ideas must have a very short memory!

I have no problem with JB refering to Marvel as M****L, in fact when they
cancelled XHY I quit buying their comics and haven't since.

As far as Fox News goes, they aren't my opponents I'm not in a debate
with them. If I was having a discussion with someone from this board and
I started insulting their names or mocking them in some way then yes,
that would be pretty weak, and highly ignorant!

The Supreme Court has declined to hear the appeal.

It is all over but the waiting for her to die now.

I don't have any problem with JB referring to Marvel as M*****, or his criticizing what they have become.  I agree with him.  My point was the lack of principled consistency in James's lecturing/criticizing others who do things like that, re: Fox News, but not when JB does it, re: Marvel.

" Fox N*** "

Not a bad way to make the point.

Putting quotations around the news part serves also. Fox "news".
