Imagine if Samuel L. Jackson or his publicist had objected to his likeness being swiped for a comic?•• Someday I hope to meet Samuel L. Jackson so I can ask him why the ^$ that DIDN'T happen!!

I wonder if Millar and Hitch gambled that Samuel Jackson, being a comic book fan, would feel flattered that they had used his likeness?

But if true, I can only assume Jackson received some pretty poor legal advice, or, more likely, none at all.

From what I have read SLJ gave them permission as long as he got to play Nick Fury in any future movies.

I will search for the interview where I read that.

I did misremember. Marvel did use his likeness but when SLJ found out he let them continue as long as he could be in a movie.
Edited for new info.

So Marvel got lucky. Can any of our legal eagles speculate on a worst case scenario if Mr. Jackson got into a huff and decided to take Marvel to task?

(Sorry, I have to be a stickler... that picture on Page 1 is most assuredly NOT Faye Dunaway... that's Hilary Duff, who was aping BONNIE & CLYDE for a somewhat recent photo shoot. Brian Hague, you might want to update that with a more accurate picture.
Just Google "Hilary Duff Bonnie & Clyde" and you'll see what I mean.)

Morrison wanted a powerhouse…
••
And the Beast is such a wuss. . . . .
_____________________________
In Morrison's run (which I stopped reading and dropped the book 8 issues in) Beast was a wuss. Morrison had Beast get beat down with a (I kid you not) baseball bat by a scrawny looking new teenage mutant called Beak (who as far as I know, didn't even have superhuman strength).
