Is there only one Hall of Fame award given out per year?

JB totally deserves to get inducted into the Hall of Fame! He's worked on every iconic character from DC and Marvel. Best of luck, sir!

Is there only one Hall of Fame award given out per year?

There are two Judge's Choice inductions into the Hall of Fame.  These are cartoonists or other people who've had a major impact on the art form who are deceased (and are usually people that the judges feel might not make it into the Hall when left to the voters' discretion).

Beyond that, it's typically four additional people added to the Hall each year.  The major sports Hall of Fames have a varying number of candidates enter each year, and those voted in have to get a certain percentage of the vote for induction.  I'd like to see some variation of that rather than automatically putting in four people every year, but it's nice to see the people on the ballot getting recognition regardless.

Four a year's also a bit much once we hit all those great creators who started in the 1970s, then the 1980s, all of whom are going to be artists and writers that the voting pool grew up reading.  Wonder if this will get revamped or if we'll just inch closer and closer to modern times with the Hall of Fame.

I don't see the benefit in limiting the number of inductees.  In this HOF or any other.  Whether there are 2 or 20 deserving candidates, just put the one's who deserve it in.

Not an issue, since there's no way I'll win.

********

Any reason why you think so? A lot of people are huge fans of some portion of your work in the industry. If anything it would be shocking if you were not one of the four to receive the award.

You're biggest competitors would be the most known which in this case is Chris Claremont, Frank Miller, and Matt Groening. If anything you will probably get more votes than 1-2 of them I would imagine.
