When I see that someone is 40, I *still* seem to think "born in 1964" -- even though I just turned 40 myself and know all to well that right now it means "born in 1974"!•• When I hit 60, I started playing a little mental game. What if I was to lie about my age, and tell people I was 40? This is not something I'd ever actually do, but what kinds of things would I have to keep track of, if I did? The big shocker was realizing it would mean I had been born in 1970, and just how many of the important things in my life would be erased by this. No transAtlantic crossings by liner, for instance. Fine for the Fifties, but by the Seventies people flew. Plus, no longer a witness to the birth of the Silver Age, or the Marvel Age. And missed the original STAR TREK altogether! Not worth it!
