Add $0.02 and you can get something from the dollar menu at McDonalds! That's not half bad!

@Rob - not if you live in a state that charges sales tax! It's more like the $1.07 menu where I live!
I had a friend who got a check for some small amount - I want to say it was $0.17, because the amount of the check was less than the cost of postage. He refused to cash the check, because he liked the idea of the company not being able to clear it out of their check book.
Yeah, my friend was an asshole - for what it's worth, we're not friends anymore.

Talking to a friend this morning, whose late husband was a TV actor. I told her about this check and she mentioned she'd kept a royalty check she received after he died -- for 13¢!We both decided to frame 'em.

Last year I agreed to participate in a class action lawsuit against a former employer. There was a settlement, and about six weeks ago I got my cut: $6.47!!
Still trying to decide between a yacht and a mansion...

Still trying to decide between a yacht and a mansion... ======= Ask the lawyer who won the case for you guys, which he likes best. It's just a guess but he probably got both out of the deal.

A few years ago, I received this check in the mail for an award given to me by some court in California. I jogged my memory a bit, and realize that it must've been a refund for an Internet subscription website that I had canceled back in my college days. I had to call a number at the time when the charge kept coming through, and had to get it canceled that way.
It turns out that the outfit had run into legal trouble, and this must've been awarded to me as one of the victims of what turned out to be fraud. Eek. Good thing I stopped paying for website subscriptions after that.

The question was asked but I don't think it was ever answered, do you Americans have Direct Deposit? That's when people who pay you such as your employer, or a Government Tax refund, etc, electronically deposit the funds directly into your bank account.I ask because I know you didn't have Interac (using your bank's debit card to pay for purchases at any store, for any amount, anywhere, directly from your regular bank account and not having to put it on your credit card, or go to an ATM and withdraw cash) until about 15 or 20 years after we had it.

JB, do you not make anything off of the individual issues? Should we only be buying the trades to make sure you get paid?
