I recently had to take a job that's paying about $600 a month less than I've been making, so I had to turn down the Mister Miracle one as well. It broke my heart to do so. Right now vie got three more on the way, John Buscema's SILVER SURFER, Will Eisner's SPIRIT Vol. 2 and Joe Kubert's ENEMY ACE. Hopefully with a little overtime and a raise after 90 days I can order future ones.

Candidly, the Marvel Cover book was the first of these collections I've purchased that I found somewhat disappointing, a function, I guess, of what was available. A lot of mediocre covers (as well, of course, as some excellent ones). Just to take Kirby, would you select Captain America #105, featuring a shot of Cap from the back redrawn by another artist; Devil Dinosaur #6, with Kirby's rather odd conception of two cave people in the foreground; Marvel Chillers #7 featuring Tigra the Werewoman, and Fantastic Four #175, with Kirby doing the cover for another artist's issue of the FF? I was also disappointed to see no Buscema Conan covers, which were generally his best, but licensing likely is the reason for this. The book is worth getting, but get the other Artist's editions you're interested in first, unless you are very heavily into Marvel cover art.

Robert I admit some of the choices included in this edition were baffling but I don't know the ins and outs of getting these gorgeous books together. All in all, it was a great addition to IDW's AE line.
I'd love to see a twice-up collection of Silver Age Marvel, and DC, covers from IDW. I'd open my wallet for an edition of early Kirby, and Ditko, monster covers.

Yeah, the Marvel Cover book was good, but not great. Sadly, the novelty of these has worn off, and the realization of how much these cost and how big they are has set in.I'm not sure how much cooler this covers collection is in comparison to looking at CAF collections for free.

I have the AE bug for sure. Looking at CAF is great but nothing compares to holding the thing in my hands.

I was disappointed in the selection of covers. The Nam and Tower of Shadows really made me stop and wonder who was picking these out ? Would have loved to see a Micronauts cover instead.
On the positive side some great J.B. X-men covers. The Captain America covers look like the will jump off the pages at you. And It was a good selection of artist's.
Need a Silver age edition.

I am really digging the Marvel Covers edition but am disappointed in the lack of Neal Adams within...especially given that Neal's cover to Avengers #93 was used in the solicitations.
Besides Forbidden Planet, does anyone have any leads on a discounted price for the upcoming Ronin Gallery Edition? $195.00 list is making my teeth hurt...

CheapGraphicNovels.com has it for $165.00. I've never order from them so I'm not sure about shipping cost. But, that's the cheapest price I've seen state side. I'm going to try patience on this one. This is high-priced inventory and somebody will get stuck with one and want to unload it cheap. Just wait six months to a year.

I'd rather see an AE devoted to one artist (with the EC exception) than a random selection of covers.
$130.00 for the Ronin is a good deal, best so far. Thanks for posting it Stephen.
I see IDW has listed some NYCC variants at their site. That Simonson Manhunter looks delicious.
