Wonderful work JB.  I also agree the story behind this would be great to read.

An instant favorite of mine from the past year. This piece is amazing!!!
The dynamic is awesome and the texture of Dragon Man brings him to
life!!! Grand slam!!

Now, I wish that story had been written. (Has the Avengers
ever fought Dragon Man?)

When JB's commissions are concerned, every picture definetly tells a story.

That texturing on the Dragon Man is masterful! It's probably the best depiction of the character that I've ever seen!

I notice that JB's look for Dragon Man has changed.  When he did the reimagining of FF #134, its skin reminded me of a lizard.  With this piece, DM has a dinosaur look to it.

Fantastic!  Great idea for a commission, and perfectly executed, JB

They just don't draw then like that any more!

Seriously, they don't. Doom is the only one currently wearing a costume like the ones in this commission. And that makes me sad. Classic characters in classic costumes.

That's the best Dragon Man has ever looked (including vintage Kirby and Byrne).

Dragon Man's exact nature has always confused me a bit. He's not technically a robot, because he was given "life" by Diablo which makes him sort of a golem/synthetic hybrid. How mechanical is his innards? Was this ever shown?
