Having scrolled thru this thread, there's one piece of advice I want to give all you would-be pencilers out there in JBF-Land --- when you are drawing a page, don't draw the stuff you like first!

I notice a number of pages that have fully finished figures in a couple of panels -- while the rest of the panels have nothing. And some aren't even finished panels. Sure, it's boring to do the drudge work -- but the drudge work has to be done, and if you leave it for last, you will want to do it even less!!

Finish the first panel on the page. Then move on the the next one. Then move on to the next one. Trust me, you'll get used to it, and it will make the page go faster and smoother.

Great advise that I'm utilising right now!

Okay here's the first panel of my first page, page 20. I hate these "falling" shot's as they always seem to be between the two most dynamic points; standing and recumbant.

Anyway:

[Edited to add: I just noted I haven't inked in the plate on the car...anyoneguess what the numbers going to be!? ;-) ]

You also picked a bad angle. Looking at the
drawing, my first thought was "Why is Sue sho fat?"

Motion is usually (tho not always) best portrayed
from a "camera" that is at something approaching a
right angle to the direction of the motion.

Right, so because she's falling -towards- the camera it kills the "movement"!? Gotcha. I should be able to 'photoshop' a "fix" to this by redrawing those two figures (the cop and Sue to be more "side on") and have her falling across the panel rather than out of it.

[Edited to add: "Oops how rude, I meant to add a Thanks for the tip]

Page one is finished.  I left some room at the bottom for a title and credits.

Darren I like this image overall. The onething i'd comment about thou is Perhaps if the figures were varied a bit the scene might look a bit more dynamic. But other then that great piece of art

:(  I must've done something very wrong if it is the tiles that you noticed.  Just kidding, thanks Justin.
