Paul,

I showed Kristine the pic of you with Jillian at the top of the page.  I think she wants me to borrow your sweater for our 2013 Christmas card.

An even better idea might be to have you in the sweater as a stand in for me on my own Christmas card.  I like it!

Just got back from a short diving trip to Iceland.

One of the dive sites was Silfra in the Thingvellir National Park. What makes Silfra so special is that it's a ravine between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates so as you swim through you can touch two continents at the same time. In the photo below, taken at the entry point, you can see the surface of the ravine behind me. The water was a balmy three degrees celsius!

If anyone's interested you can find out more about Silfra here.

Robbie, Iceland is one of those places that I have on the radar right now. How did you enjoy your time there and was it fairly easy to do what you wanted to do on your own?

Brad, I was part of a group of six and someone else booked everything so it was really easy for me! We stayed in Reykjavik which is a very nice city. As we were only there for three nights we didn't get to travel too far and stayed down in the south west which is where the dive sites were. I definitely want to go back and do the week-long tour that the dive centre offers. This takes in much more of the island, including non-diving sites.

I've wanted to visit Iceland ever since I saw the BBC adaptation of the Desmond Bagley novel Running Blind way back in 1978 so I'm pleased to have finally made it!
