Thanks, Marc, Adam and Shawn!  A friend also suggested "Jor-El assured me the zipper wouldn't show!"

My dog Sebastian and myself.

••

Friend and Forum member Cory Vandernet recently gave me a picture of myself in the front hall of my old house, with Wanda (my Chow) and Sam (my Golden). I was surprised by Sam's color in the picture. He looked just like your Sebastian. Yet, by the time he was around 4 years old, he had fully "old dog" colors. His body fur was much lighter in hue and his face was completely white. People who saw him would often say "Ohh! He's an OLD one!" And I would say no, he's only six. Or seven. Or eight. Or whatever he happened to be.

Perhaps it's slightly ironic that he did, indeed, eventually become a VERY old dog, for one his size. He was fifteen when he died last year.

Here's hoping you have Sebastian for at least as long!

Thank you Mr. Byrne. I really appreciate your kind words.

Sebastian was trained as a seeing eye dog, in a institution in Mexico City that trains them and give them to blind people, without charge. Sebastian was nervous and would scare for any abrupt sound (like sirens, ballons popping or skateboards). When a dog is not fit for the job of "seeing eye dog", they are put back into adoption. My partner adopted him and a week later I met him. The color of his hair was lighter and now that I see old pics I can notice that. Sebastian has a cute face, and sometimes people think that he's a female dog. Now that he's six, he is more well behave, but sometimes he still believes that he's a puppy. I love my Sebastian and he's a excellent dog. The best in all my life.

This is a pic of him, when he was one year old.
