Yes, "tree-like" sounds about right! If Mr. Warden provided it to you, it is the same address from when I got the commission...
If a contest like this does become an annual tradition, please make me ineligible as a previous winner, because my wife might not be as cool about it next time...! :-)
Seriously though, this was a great idea you had that ended up benefitting some worthy charities. Maybe a future contest could have a sketch as a prize? (again with the bidding being in the form of donations)
Thanks, JB!

Am I right in guessing that the "2112" part of the donation was inspired by the Next Men graphic novel, and that the 37 cents is a nod to X-Men 137?
Thanks for making such a generous donation to the Humane Society! Nice job, everyone!

Andrew, the 2112 part is correct, but the .37 is simply because I wanted to get our donation fund back to a whole dollar amount and this seemed like an opportunity to do that.

The package is on its way!Knowing I would be in New Canaan this morning, I took it along, since for some reason the Post Office there seems to produce faster deliveries than my local. Reminds me of when I was still living in Calgary, and discovered quite by accident that the dinky little postal outlet at the back of the Hudson's Bay store could get the packages I mailed to Marvel delivered two or three days faster than the main Post Office. No idea why!!

It was a great idea and making it an annual tradition would be cool, but I think knowing there was something to gain caused a few people to get crazy. If one day a year everyone posted their donation receipts and JB did something "nice" (if he wanted to or not) for the doner with the highest dollar amount, there might be less envy, angst and silliness.

Ha ha! You mean I'm not getting 800 pages of original art for the low low price of ~$2.50 per page??? No, I made my donation because it was a good thing to do. Some people may think it was "crazy", but we donate similar & larger amounts to very similar charities, so this was not a big deal in my mind. Heck, I donated a kidney to my mother-in-law, so giving is in my DNA!

Not offended! I've often jokingly said "Grenough is enough!", and pronounced my name like 'enough', even though it is more like Greh-noe. I'm jealous that Nathan Greno has a cleaner version of my name...!
