Y'know. . .   it's been almost forty years, now, and I still find myself feeling jealous of Dave Cockrum whenever I draw Storm. He handled the shiny black material of her cloak and costume with such EASE, and even after all this time I still find myself struggling with it.

Nice work JB. The emotional angst of the Beast being stuck in the middle of this stands out and makes me feel sorry for him.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm willing to let that slide. Another home run!

Great commission! I love the way The Vision is just hovering while Wolverine is attacking.

What an amazing match-up!  Ditto on everything already said.

One question that I hate to ask as I hate to detract from the awesomeness:  Is Cap's shield absorbing Cyclops's blast?

Missed the black on Kurt's left leg!!!!!!!!!

***

That made me go back and look again, as I'd missed Nightcrawler the first time I looked.

WOW!!!

Epic battle!  Love the Wolverine/Vision punch -- or lack thereof!

Fantastic JB.  And the vintage of each team is a smart choice by the commissioner.

COOL!!! -- And WAY more satisfying and FUN than the "Avengers vs. X-Men" series Marvel put out last year!

Other than Wonder Man in the safari jacket and no Black
Panther, those were my "first" Avengers and X-men.

Great job.

Is Cap's shield absorbing Cyclops's blast?

••

That's really one of the great imponderables of Marvel Comics, isn't it? Just how DOES Cap's shield work?

Perhaps best not to ask, or someone might decide to tell us that energy directed against the shield is channeled into a parallel dimension -- maybe even the one that Cyclops' energy blasts come from!
