I got it yesterday and loved it. Really loved it. Oh my gosh ! Armpit hairs on first page. Mr Byrne breaks yet another US comics taboo ! Ok it shouldn't be such a big deal but it is ! Thanks you for this Sir. But before you all start calling me mad, hairs are not the reason I loved this one. The pace, the twists, in fact, I may start to consider this issue the best Byrne issue in the 21st century. The first one was okay, a good introduction but #2 is a masterpeice of storytelling. I'm hooked !

And congratulations to L. O'Grady for the colours and some really outstanding texturing work (the "okay I'm in" panel for example and the final double page are worth the admission price) Keep up the great work you two !

I like that LOST WORLDS shop design!  Thanks for the sneak, JB - good to know there are plans for world beyond what we're seeing in THE HIGH WAYS.

The ever expanding Byrneverse!

JB,

Does the trigger gene still exist in this series?

Not an issue I explore. Saving that for FINDERS OF LOST CHILDREN.

Thanks. Looking back at my question, I phrased it oddly. I meant to ask if the trigger gene still exists at this point in the future. I agree it would be odd to explore it in the context of this story.

I have really enjoyed the first two issues and I am very much looking forward to number three!!!!  Your art has been gorgeous as always JB and the story is pulling me right in.  I find myself really caring about this crew and anxious about the mystery ship that showed up at the end of issue two!  Thank you JB for putting out such a great book!!

Superb stuff, while really gripping I find the tone and the look of the book to be really relaxing. Loved the panel with the captain in shadow with the glare behind him.

Y'know, there hasn't been a single IDW JB series I haven't enjoyed, but I could read nothing but The High Ways for a decade and never look back.

So no one wants to comment on the armpit hairs. OK. Still a taboo then. Don't get me wrong I don't want to reduce or diminish The High Ways by focusing on this detail. I've said it, it's my favourite "new" series by JB in the 21st century. Great 2nd issue for a very promising series. But this hairs problem has bugged me ever since I started reading US comics and that's a reason of ridicule for many European-comics-only readers I know. You know men and women coming out of the desert or the jungle after weeks of struggle with perfectly shaven armpits all the time. I do remember a pin up of Wolverine with some bristle there but it was supposed to be a funny pin-up if I recall. So I wanted to thanks mister Byrne for this small detail, meaningless for many I guess but which somehow means a lot to me...

OK, I'm really confused here ... who's the bad guy (or girl). Can't wait for #3!
