For me, you could stop after Cyclops' second costume. Perfection! Though I'm sure some hipster would complain about the trunks on the outside.

If those "hipsters" would actually call them "trunks" I'd take it as something of a triumph!!

Adam,

Were you talking about the Simonson look prior to when he reverted to blue fur? I didn't mind the costume at that point. I never liked the Beast in just blue trunks, that was Ben Grimm's look!

Yet, where is the logic in someone covered with fur wearing a costume? Wouldn't that be uncomfortable?

Good point. Maybe it was just the blue trunks with the blue fur.

Call me crazy, but I always prefer the X-Men in civies - I guess this was caused by my love for the cover of MTU #4!

++++++++++++++++++++++

Am I the only one who always wondered what Iceman hoped to gain by freezing Spider-Man's butt on that cover?

Shawn, I do like both Beast in the brown uniform with and without fur. I
think at that point I wanted him back to his blue fur look that I didn't care
what uniform he wore.

I do appreciate the "itchy" POV, but to me Unstable Molecules must
prevent itchiness, along with all their other properties.

Do the ever-active Unstable Molecules ever malfunction? At some point, could an outfit suddenly just give up the ghost and turn to brown goo?

Careful Monte, that sounds like a plotline Nu-Marvel would run with as an excuse to give us naked Super-Heroines.

JB, I aways thought you were successful in making Scott "Slim" without just being skinny.

The decision to avoid costume confusion caused more trouble back then in my opinion. Some books ended up with vague hints of a costume on the characters. The issues with civies were better for it.
