You may have to go to Canada. An old girlfriend
sent it to me as a birthday present a few years back,
and there's not so much as a hint of Marvel ©
notifications anywhere on it.

JB, that shirt reminds me of the Spider-Man shirt I bought in the
early 90s. Instead of having no copyright it says DC!
Anyway, found this pic when I was looking for samples of Ron Frenz's work for
another thread. The caption reads: The wedding reception photo of Roger Stern and Carmela that ran in the Marvel Bullpen section of all the Marvel titles for a month in the early eighties. Left to right: Christie Scheele, Tom DeFalco, Carmela Merlo, Roger Stern, John Byrne, Mark Gruenwald, and Belinda Glass... and bringing up the rear, Jim Shooter (who actually is standing on a cinder block for comedic effect. And the link: http://www.marvelmasterworks.com/features/int_stern_1006_3.h tml

It's painful for me as a fan to think of what was and what could have been, especially since things have gone like they have gone there. I can imagine for you it must be worse.

Weird thing is, that at just a hair under six feet, I was
the second tallest person in that group!

Thank goodness "Giant" Jim Shooter is standing on a cinder block, for a second there it looked like Jim and the Mighty Marvel Munchkins!

Hi Folks,
Here is a photo of my son Matthew and John Byrne which I took in December of 2006. Matt went with me on a trip to JB's to pick up some oversized commissions. Matt thought the oversized pieces were awesome and on the way back home he and I talked about what his "dream piece" might be. We came up with a scene of the Flash, Batman, and Green Lantern vs. Gorilla Grodd, the Joker, and Sinestro. I later called up JB and he agreed to do the piece for Matt. I'll post the photo of Matt and JB in a separate message in a few minutes.
