That's the ceremonial passing of the pencil, isn't it?

Yes
I wish I had a better picture of that historic moment.

Do I notice that you changed the part in your hair?
**********
I have what is known as a "double crown". I can part
my hair on either side -- tho I still end up with a kind
of Dennis the Menace effect in the back. These
days, I don't part my hair at all. I just let it fall where it
dries.

Not sure. For some reason I want to say March, but I
have no real evidence to support this. Some time
between January and June is the best I can really do.

John-
Back in 1988 I lifted a quote from you that appeared
with your photo from a magazine..(maybe Epic
Illustrated?) and put it on a scholarship application,
albeit slightly altered. They had asked me to write
down something about myself and why I should get
that particular award. You wrote: "I am a cog in the
machine that is comics and I rejoice in that.."
My altered version replaced the word 'comics' with
'artwork'.
And yadda yadda.. I got the scholarship! So thank
you and I hope you don't mind!
