Here is an upcoming action figure set with John Byrne's Medusa.
(I think the figure's hair should be fuller on top imo)

That outfit looks a lot like the one that Medusa wore as a member of the Fantastic Four.

I received the book as a Christmas present and just finished reading it this weekend. It's a riveting and tragic story - almost like watching a train wreck in slow motion - and it's hard not to come away feeling depressed about how poorly so many beloved creators were treated the various Marvel regimes over the years.
Aside from the injustice or inequity of it all, which has been well-documented many times in previous books, I thought Sean Howe did a nice job of delving into previously untold conflicts, office politics, personal relationships and lots of trivia that was new to me as a long-time comic fan and amateur Marvel historian.
This JBF thread on the book has proven to be just about as informative and entertaining as the book, which is one of the great things about internet message boards and the ability to get the direct input from the creators themselves.

The discussion has been a an extremely nice compliment to the read. It
also spurred me to grabbing the Origins, Sons of Origins and Bring on
the Bad Guys books that I briefly experienced as a kid. They are
waiting on my porch and have me looking forward to returning home
today...... Now to get ahold of a copy of Superhero Women to complete
the set.

Congrats Todd. I have actually been tracking them on eBay, after
finding copies on amazon for about $20 and up. Haven't seen one for
$8.00 on amazon.

Just received Origins of Marvel Comics, Sons of Origins and Bring on the Bad Guys. The books are as fun as I remember... with the bonus of now paying attention to Stan's narrative about the creative process behind these characters. The first two books arrived as part of a set that included the Fantastic Four Return Mighty Marvel Collector's Album, a pocket-sized book that collects a story from Fantastic Four Annual #2 and Fantastic Four (1961-1996 1st Series) #33 and 35. Page layouts are horizontal instead of vertical and pages divided from the original printing to fit the book and allow for appreciation of the art. It looks as though it was thoroughly enjoyed and possibly rested in the back pocket of someone's jeans. :) Featured are Doctor Doom, Sub-Mariner, and the Dragon Man
It seems fitting that since this thread turned me onto the Fireside Books from years ago, that I offer this last book to anyone participating in the thread who may enjoy it. Let me know if ya want it and I'll mail it to you.

Those Fireside collections are pure gold! They were really my first introduction to all the Silver Age Marvel origin stories, so they hold a special place in my heart after all these years. I've looked in vain for hardcover editions of Origins and Sons of Origins, but I was lucky to find a slipcase set of the two books from 1976 on eBay last year.

I thought that was Marvel Girl on that cover at first glance not Medusa at all.

Maybe once the first person reads that Fireside FF book they can mail it to the next person who wants it. It could be the JBForum version of that garden gnome from a few years back. It could even have its own thread, "Where's that FF book now?". Could be fun.

That book that Fred posted is not a Fireside book, it's a Lancer paperback from the 1960's. The Fireside books are tradepaperback format reprints from the 1970's & early 1980's, like "The Superhero Women of Marvel." Edit: For typo.
