Question - when scanning your pencils/inks, what resolution and settings are you all using?  I work (as many of you do) on 11 x 17, but have a 8-1/2 x 11 scanner and have to patch it together in Photoshop.  I've noticed the quality of my lines are not quite as clear as many of yours.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

I too have to stitch the two segments together using PS after scanning.

I scan in at 150dpi and use PS's "Save for Web" option because you get a "real-time" preview of how it'll look.

Matt-
My scanner is set at 300dpi, then in Photoshop i reduce the
image dpi to 100 then open the save for web function and
reduce size accordinly. I recorded all the functions so i just hit
one key.
There other way of doing it but remember your dpi.

Do you set it for color photo, greyscale photo, or b&w text and picture?

Greyscale all the way. Sometimes you can get away with B/W
depending on the lead you use.
