Thanks for the advice Darren, I'm already a fan of Hitch and Neary but admit that I haven't studied their lines, just admired the art.  I'm still trying to learnt he art of inking(in addition to pencilling) so I don't even know what I really want to use.  I think a comibination of tools is best but I just can't get myself to use a brush.  I've tried the brush pens but they all seem to be very hard for me to control.  I feel like an elephant playing the piano when I try to use them so I usually just try to fake it by using different size pens.

As far as your work, it looks like you've got a heavy influence of Brian Steelfreeze going.  Are you a Gaijan Studios fan?  I like you're heavy blacks accented by the fine detail lines (stomach, hands, etc.).

p.s. are you lightboxing your inks over your pencils?

Haha, even your idea of "naff" is awesome. However, the second one is so much cooler.

"it looks like you've got a heavy influence of Brian Steelfreeze going"-Andy

I've heard that before but I've never checked out Brians work to draw any similarities. I guess i should to see what people are picking up on!

" Are you a Gaijan Studios fan?"-Andy

In-so-much as i like Adam Hughes! beyond that I couldn't even name another member...well I'm assuming from the context of your sentence that Brian is one!

"I like you're heavy blacks accented by the fine detail lines (stomach, hands, etc.). "-Andy

My two mantras..."Textures" and "pockets of details".

I was on vacation last week, so I have a LOAD of stuff
to catch up on. In the meantime, here's something I
did this afternoon for work.

I was faced with a real tight deadline which I, of
course, easily made. Unfortunately, after I turned it in
I was told the feature was cut this month to add
space for something else.

Oh well. There are worse ways to spend one's
afternoon (such as designing car, tire or window
ads).

Darren -
cool work, as always! (Good choice of Deaths; the first Death *did* seem a
little flat) And did I miss your Cheetera?

Andy - i kinda like the hair; sorta a wood-cut look.
