Painted this over the weekend for a contest.
It's an 11"x14" acrylic on some fancy paper.

Hallo lads! It's been a long while since I drew anything, here's what I've done lately.

Chris: Thanks.

James:Thanks, I was really trying to get it to feel that
way.

Andrew: I've recently become a member of the
Society for Children's Writers & illustrators. They
have contests on their website for writers &
illustrators.

This one is called "Winter Cave."
We are given this scenario:

While walking home from school Ben takes a detour
through the woods and is caught in a sudden
snowstorm. Cold and afraid, he ducks into a cave for
shelter. Once inside the cave, he's amazed to find....

Artists are to illustrate what he finds. Writers are to
describe it in 75 words or less.

The prizes for winning aren't much, but at this stage
of the game I could use the publicity. Looking
through past contests, there are exceptional pieces
of art entered into this thing. So I'm expecting the
competition to be stiff.

Bill - Very nice, it has a real Brothers Hildebrandt feel to it. especially the
colors.

Morgan - Sharp, welcome to the party. Are going to ink that?

Hey thanks everyone, all the good stuff I know about art I learned by mimicing Byrne, I love this thread. It's great to see raw sketches.
