AJL, Yes...remarkably the -only- program that workks is PC-Cillin and this cicks up nothing at all on the scan. It is through this program that I manage to negotiate my way onto the internet!

By opening the Help menu I can search the topics for "contact" and this presents me with the link to their website. Clicking on that open the browser and -bingo- I'm in to the Folders.

No such luck James, any program listed on the Start menu is a no go. Comes up with the same error message:

"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please contact your administrator"

"Cheers Darren! I really do learn a lot from you all!  "-Chris

Thanks Chris but we should all acknowledge that as artists we continuously learn from one another, regarless of our stages of development. It's a continuous learning curve. To start with that curve is very steep but when it sort of levels out, -that- is where all the hard work is involved;-)

Darren, can you get into Safe Mode? If you don't know how to get into it, I believe you hit F8 while the computer's booting up. You should be able to access most of your programs there (and System Restore if you have it!) and do any uninstalls if needed.

Yes I -can- load under Safe mode, however (and this is my clue that it's my account that's effected) Even the "safe mode" has the same problem!

:-(

Thanks for the suggestions people, it's nice.

At boot up, a disc in the floppy will stop the boot!

It sounds like spyware. You might want to google your error message and find the scenario that best matches yours. Then you should be able to find a fix for it.
