"None of that making your mark buisness and not respecting the source."

Thanks AJL. I try but sometimes I find my ego leading me astray;-)

I think it has to do with familiarity. I have a prefered version of Supergirl that I draw and the same for Wonder Woman. Instead of star spangled pants I give her a star spangled loin cloth, for example.

But in most of "this Wekk" characters, I either barely or just plain don't know the characters and find myself sticking "on model".

So not really a conscious decision there-LOL

Started the last section of life drawing this semester.  The Professor changed part of the sketchbook project to include self portraits using oil pastel bars on construction paper.  Here's one of my initial attempts.  So far, I miss my pencils.  But who knows, maybe it will grow on me...

Once again please forgive the general response, but after a week away, there
is just too much wonderful art posted here to try to list them all one at a
time. Great posts one and all, and I'm really looking forward to the finished
calendar.

Jonathan Watkins - I really like the creative way you use color.  you look kinda mad though...

Marc Thompson - like that.  good ol' classic x-men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darren & All - I have good news and bad news.  The bad news is that my inks for the calendar are going to be late, so I'm sorry about that.  Darren, If you want, go ahead and post AJL's pencils and I'll send you the inks as soon as I'm done.  The Good News is that I'm making some great strides in my inking - i'm learning a lot about what tools works best for me.
