I'm game for this!

I think I will *really* challenge myself and take December: Doom Patrol!

"What size do you want these drawn at?"-Justin

Anysize. Whatever you feel comfortable doing. Be it portrait or landscape, makes no odds.

I'll be doing mine on standard comicbook page sizes so that should give you an idea.

(there needs to be a FAQ for this . . .)

Questions:
= The calendar aspect of this will be put over top of the illustration? or
this will be designed so that the illustration is at the top of the spread
and the calendar will be stand-alone at the bottom such as the standard
calendar you can get at the store?
= TImeline? I have next week off and will be unable to scan/e-mail the
drawing until after Jan 2.
= Color? More than able to do this, but don't want to design it to be
colored and have it turn out others can't.

And to the rest of you: I'm planning on doing this portrait, tho I can be
convinced to do it landscape if the majority is, for consistency's sake.

(Darren: aren't you sorry you offered to herd this gang of cats? Thanks for
leading.)

No probs Andrew.

If everyone does Greyscale, that'll be fine. I am unsure whether mine will be portrait -or- landscape but most likely the former.

I think we should -ALL- aim to have ours done for Jan the 15th.

All drawings unveiled at same time?
What about Jan? We only get to look at it for 15 days?

Retrospective:

This thread was started by the talented Mr T Tomlinson on the 11th of February at 1:43am this year.

The very first piece of artwork posted was a character design by Roger [Ott] Posted two hours and ten minutes after the thread was opened. [Trust Roger to be the first one in, huh. Can't sit back and let the world pass him by, gotta be in the thick of it, huh buddy;-) ]

I remember thinking that it reminded me of a drawing from the Official Handbook or the Marvel Universe.

Mark McMurray followed this up with a link to his sketchbook online [this link still works and I'd reccommend spending half an hour going through some accomplished sketching]

The artwork began to come in thick and fast, with our own Bill Wiist's first post.

Stephen Rockwood and James Stewart both also made it onto the first page.

Anthony J Lombardi made it in on the second page where a number of really talented artists posted pages to hint at the talent circulating on the board. Most of which have gone quiet sadly.

We had only got to our third page and John [Byrne], our host and Landlord leapt in with a contribution to our thread. And it humbled us all.

I recall Thanos posting a kick ass page with Ironman and Thor on it.

I also recall Glen Browns -awesome Demon pencils.

There were so many great images.

Then something chnaged, for me in April. Justin asked if I wanted to ink a piece of his. I had a little time and didn't see why not. Suddenly the thread turned from a place to share my artwork, to a place I could get involved with other artists. I was pleased to have a go on Justins pencils, given how highly I rate him as an artist. I "chose" the Thing since he offered me to choose, to test his patience with drawing all the plates. [This is a good way to work out what sort of artist you are dealing with] Just provided a knock out illo which i had a blast inking.

Then in May MAC and Anthony were talking about wrangling everyone into a Studio.

Throughout the year we've celebrated a couple of milestones and all worked together to do these. It's been a blast and I've thouroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to what next year is going to bring.

Many thanks to all of you for sharing your artwork and keeping this tired old guy entertained.

Salute,

Darren.
