I use Painter 7 mostly.  I heard version 9 is out.  I wonder if it is much better.

For the above I sketched it at about an inch tall in pencil then inked it in Painter 7 with the Pen tool.

Abou the coloring comment:  I meant I don't know what coloring would look good on it.

Jonathan Watkins - that sketch, like your others, have a lot of character to them.  nice one.

Anthony J Lombardi - That totally looks like a Christmas card.  And I agree with Darren, lots of Christmas cheer on that roof!

James Stewart - I think that demon is one of the best pieces I've seen you do!  Excellent!  And the colors on Justin's piece are great as well.  Nice job.

Michael Hatton - "I finally decided to start drawing again." - and I'm glad you did!  sometimes tough to get started, but it looks like your off to a good start.  as for colors, just play with it.  The beauty of digital art is that you can do several different layouts but not futs up the original.

John Staton - that is pretty cool.  is he your own creation?  especially like the detail on the sleeves.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the "What's In Your Sketchbook?" thread:

I will be leaving for Florida this Saturday.  My family and I are going to Disneyworld for several days, then to Universal Studios for a day.  We will return on Thursday, so if I don't talk to you all before Saturday, C-ya, have fun, and post a lot of stuff!!!

Hiya, I have been lurking on this paticular thread for quite a while now..I have been very impressed with all the posters talent and dedication to drawing.

Seeing some of the art posted here has inspired me to pick up the pencil and start doodling again..

So, I decided I would share some quick character designs I have been working on for a friend of mine..He need a quick character sketch for a short 3D animation.

He told me I can share the images..but not discuss his movie idea..

I tried to keep these pretty loose and rough..I find when I tighten my drawings up they lose a lot of their "life"

I am gonna try and draw more often and share what I do with you guys..

Thanks James and Matthew! The sketch above is of Samson, an old Hanna - Barbera cartoon. A lot like Captain Marvel, the kid would slap his wrists together and (SHAZAM!)
