I'll check out the artstores in Glasgow. I'm due a visit anyway. Any other samples of stuff done with them?

Working on a "Thing" for next weeks Christmas postings. I've only -once- in my life tried to draw the "lumpy" Thing and I was possibly seventeen years old at the time. Now here I am in excess of seventeen years later trying to draw the same character.

The Thing is -one- of those characters that fall into my "Love-'em-and-Hate-'em" catagories.

I love the characters to death. Their look and their history.

I hate them because I bring this admiration to the drawing board with me like baggage and place unessesary expectations on myself and end up cocking up the damn drawing. This then carries over onto the next time I go to draw the same character, like it's a run of crap drawings I can't shake! Aurora is another of these "LTAHT" characters. probably the worst such example because I -totally- love that character.

Anyway, just an arm to go.

Heres one I just did while listening to cable news.  Added a couple spots of ink to some areas and dropped in a light blue background once it was scanned.

Darren:  looking forward to seeing the Thing.  I visited your web page.  I very much like the pieces you have on display there.

Just -another- example of why this Forum is a great place to hang-out!

Some of the "lessons" I learned whilst inking that piece have been applied in the one I'm doing now.

yeah i enjoyed colouring that Thing pic as well Justin.

Jonathan that is really well done. the light blue backgroud  you added brings the girl forward.and the pencils give it a painty feel. if you know what i mean.

Another great piece Jonathan. The character has a nice distribution of balance throughout it.

LOL, we'll see how the image turns out and hopefully you'll still feel the same. I forget where I have my webpage link pointing but I thank you for the praise.
