sva? lol...i'm lost.

i attended a very prestigious college here in town...greenville technical
college...lol

or as we all call it, the "university of 291" which is the highway it's located
on.

it was a typical 2 year transfer school...nothing special.

i took visual arts/advertising for 2 years and loved it...unfortunately when
they brought in the industry "professionals" for the portfolio and job
preparation part i realized that they were all materialistic, egomaniacal,
pricks...lol

now maybe everyone successful in that field isn't that way, but all the
folks in town seemed to be. so i certainly don't want to offend anyone
here who's in that field...i can only speak for the numerous people i've
come into contact with here in the area.

i realized that i would have to become these people in order to make it in
that business...and it was soooo not what i wanted.

so i basically wasted 2 years of my life...lol

i was like "i just wanna draw. i just wanna create."

oh well, if things hadn't worked out the way they had i never would've
met my wife who is the love of my life.

so all in all i'd say things came out pretty well.

MAC  great inks on the JLA pic.

Darren nice change of style there, reminds me of the art that was done for the "Great rock 'n' roll swindle", Sex Pistols film for all you youngsters.

James K good to have you aboard  the sketchbook express,we're going all the way till the wheels drop of and burn

er...hmm... Anthony... the calendar thing was... er... not Darren's idea... er..

And should we try to all go for it? We could keep the same format as the panels we have made, with some space reserved for the month's informations. We just need to choose a theme and we can all go for our own illustrations. By this way, even if take something like 2 or 3 weeks for each of us, it is OK because it simultaneous. So the waiting will be shorter...

So, who is on?

Good job on the panels everyone.
I'm down with the calendar idea.
Of course, I've still gotta try to squeeze in a holiday
sketch before Christmas. But it all looks and sounds
good to me!

Sorry Didier , I knew you had suggested it. I meant my post to be agreeing with Darren that i thought it was a good idea. I sometimes tend to look at these posts like we all are having a verbal conversation , I meant it like i was addressing you, I should have posted something like yeah Didier I agree with Darren it's a good idea.

James Kilpatrick - "i went to school for visual arts/advertising" - " sva? lol...i'm lost."
~~~~~
I read school FOR visual arts and saw School OF Visual Arts in Manhattan.  My bad.
--------------------------
Justin Wasson - "Matthew, did you see my request at the top of the page?"
~~~~~
No, I purposely did not look at that because I knew it would be another piece that I would commit to that would wait in the purgatory of my "To Color" folder...

Seriously, there are some illustrations I want to get to that are more pencil/rendering for my portfolio, and I've got your inks for the IW project, then color that and the cover for IW, then a bunch of other one shots that I told folks I'd do.  I really try to do what I can for folks, but my time is so limited.  Some days I literally get only 5 to 10 minutes to do anything with drawing, so it's real hard to keep things going.  So please don't be mad.  If you’re willing to wait several months…

Now, James on the other hand, he sits around all day and drinks beer and draws comic book stuff.  He'd be glad to throw some colors on your piece.
--------------------

Chris Yeoman - nice one.  I've noticed that your pencil linework is looking more confident every time.

Chris cool sketch mate. your stuff gets better and better.

I would love to colour Justins page, but i'm concentrating on the IW project. But if its only a couple of pages i might have a go. I would also suggest someone puts it in the fanfic section, so others who don't normally check out the sketchbook thread can check it out.

This time I thought I would try doing a superhero piece, and with a
background:

Drew the figure, scanned it in, threw Photoshop at it.
Also did the gray in Photoshop "Zip-a-tone"

Andrew Hess - very cool.  color would be cool, but I thin it stands alone as a great black & white piece too.
