Mikeal & Darren thxs for the remarks,
and yeah Vlad i did use markers to color it with. i'm still not that
good at coloring my own stuff so i experimented with it.
btw i notice that you said you use Paintshop or is it Ms paint, is it as good as Photoshop
and is it relatively cheaper? i'm trying to save up to get Photoshop
but it's really expensive, although i've seen some educational versions
of photoshop for a good price on ebay.
what would you suggest?

I have zero experience with MS Paint, so there nothing I can say about it.
I've been using Photoshop for years and love it. Occasionally I use Painter,
which has it's own pluses.

John - sorry I missed your Superman.  nice job on both.

Painter, I’ve found, is more to it's name sake - very "paint" oriented and the tools very much mimic the real thing.  It feels a little more intuitive.

Photoshop seems to have a "longer route" to find what you want it to do, but it is extremely versatile and once you figure out what everything does, your good to go.  But until then...

Vlad- Thanks for the comments. The inks are just with a pen, nothing special lol.

Matthew- Yes that's me as a GL lol, I was bored and had a few moments to sketch.

Check this out. An open letter from Erik Larsen.
Thoughts...?

1. I don't care for the language he uses when there is the distinct and very likelihood of younger people reading the column.  You can make strong points without cursing.

2. I didn't really care for the way he formatted his writing.  It's annoying to look at.

3. I think he makes some very valid points - this in particular:

"That's part of the reason that readers respond to Manga. They can start at the start and get in on the ground floor of something new and exciting."

I'd suggest that they don't even have to start at the start to enjoy it and that it is fresh and new.  My 2¢

Well my first reaction was "Doh, what's new in what he has said?" and then my second reaction was "The grass is always greener".

The fact that Erik Larsen is the one saying doesn't surprise me either.

As much as I -do- agree with him, it does sort of belittle the jobs that so many do on a daily basis for established characters, which I feel is very disrespectful.

So has he endeared himself to me? "No"...which is no loss to him I guess.
Has pointed out something new to me? "No"

Does it sound like some free advertising for image...well "Yes" frankly. But then, I'm not opposed to that either.

Good points as well, Darren.  Guess I like to give him the benifit of the doubt.
