Shawn - It looks pretty good, but a bigger size would be easier to see the
details.

Chris - Not familiar with the character, but I like the drawing, and I see
you ventured into the realm of inking. :)

Anthony - It sharp looking, but I don't care for the gradient shading on
the pants, it just looks so different from the rest of the technique. Still.
it's a small point.

John - it's pretty good, did you use markers?

I guess the pants are out. Matthew, Darren, and Vlad. Thanks for the confirmation about the pants. I've got to work on it I'm sure after some more fiddling i'll get the look i'm seeing in my head. As far as the rest of the comments thanks guys i think you were taking it easy on me. But thanks just the same.

Chris - the inks make it pop.  nice.  and is that you as GL?  I think that self portraits are one of the best excersices to do once and a while.  A lot artist across time have done them at different points in their lives.  great observation exercise.

It's really strong Anthony. The one thing I noticed(if I remember correctly)
you had more of lighting in the pencils, and they seem to be gone from
the inks. Any reason for it? I think a stronger light source would pop the
piece even more.

There were more lights Vlad. I working my way thru the inks trying to figure it out as i go along. I'm over compensating where i don't need to be. In the process i'm negelecting the respect for the light source. In trying to master the shadow i'm killing the light. The more and more i ink hopefully i will master it and not just end up creating one big black mess.

Absolutely, lighting can be pretty tough to start with. You may want to try
copies of the piece and just go in with the markers and lay down some
blacks quickly just to get the feel and if you screw up, well it's just a copy.

If it helps here's a rough of some blacks I spotted in PS. Maybe it will give
you a starting point
