I inked and colored a  re-imagined version of Superman that George Perez did as a commission back in 1985. From the Heritage Auction website comes this description: "...A super-fan named Mike started a sketch collection of artists' takes on a completely re-designed Superman."

The original pencils by Perez:

Here's a piece I decided would be fun to finish (ink, color, etc.). This one was originally penciled by the great George Perez in 1979, and features The Fantastic Four and The Impossible Man.

The original:

You did a good job, Matt, but boy is that Perez Superman costume busy. Splendid creation for a commission, but you wouldn't want to be drawing that multiple times per issue!

News of a Powerpuff Girls TV show (YAY!) as a live action series on the CW (BOO!) got me sketching up this tidbit....

I’ll watch the show because I’ll watch Chloe Bennett make a sandwich with rapt attention.  Whether I hang on for long remains to be seen....

That Superman costume might be busy, but boy am I a
sucker for that star field effect at the top. Star Boy
was one of my favourite Legionnaires for that very
reason, before I even knew what his powers were.

@ Peter and David, thanks. I was hoping he would want the original suit but he chose the bloody movie version which was hard to wrap my head around, but it was a fun challenge.
