I wouldn't know where to begin with inking, I'm clueless in that sense!
I use a mix of photographs and comics as reference, just to get the
proportions right then just adapt them into one and see what I get left
with.
Thanks for your comments James.

Anthony L - "Yes i was looking to achieve that affect." OK,
wasn't sure. You did nail it. Your sketches are looking
good. Just draw that "feeling" right on out - we'll help you by
demanding to see more!!! Your scanner seems to have issues
though, but keep the sketches coming!
Chris - very nice. Try using an eraser to increase the highlights
in her hair - you have some and they look good. Also, instead of
using your finger or tool to smear for shadowning (you did it more in
some of the other sketches you've posted), use your pencil to build up
the shadows. It takes much longer, but the final effect is much
more convincing.
It might seem like I'm picking on your, but I see a LOT of potential
for, as you put it, a newbie. You've got some nice line quality
in what you do.

Mac, I've negelected to comment thus far about your Latest Valient commision. I have been waititng until you've completed it however i'm finding that it really is deserving of high praise. The layout is really nice the flow of the piece is good . You balanced out the character layout fantastically . The colored pic of Magnus is beautiful if you do as great a job with the rest of it.I expect the entire scene to be quite stunning. Your piece is really reminding me of the old Marvel Universe poster. Good Show sir , Good Show indeed. you had mentioned Studio 108 not being dead .I'm glad to hear that.

Hmmmm this thread has been very quiet today. Here is my version of the Silver banshee. i drew this out of my memory and remembered it as a bank but soon found out it was a book store. And i'm not sure about her origin so i'll just guess that it was makeup. but if it helps she can be from earth 2.Colour version will follow later.

Decided this would be as good a place as any to let
folks know that my brother, Mike, and I have decided
that after the 17th episode of Hosser's Raiders it will
be neccessary to put the strip on hiatus. Mike is in
the middle of planning a major move from California
to Suva, Fiji. While more lucrative projects are
demanding more of my time. At some point in the
future we want to tell the next story we've plotted out
(after all, we've just barely introduced the main
players and established what they do), but currently
we're uncertain when that will be.
We've both enjoyed our short run with Komikwerks.
For me personally, it meant stretching to do painted
sequentials on a weekly basis. I learned much from
the experience and look forward to applying that
knowledge to my future projects.
The current storyline will be concluded in 3 weeks.
You can read the first 14 episodes for FREE here:
Hosser's Raiders
Thanks to everyone who has supported the strip and
offered encouragement. It's been fun and hopefully
we'll get back to it sooner rather than later.

James - see, without Darren drawing, this thread just goes down
hill! LOL I like your Banshee. The hair and flames
are done very well. Well, where's the colored
version?!?!?!?! Just kidding. Looking forward to seeing it
colored.
