"
Michael - very cool. what kind of colored pencils do you use?"
I use Prismacolor. An art store was going out of business and
they had a bunch of singles for cheap. It left me with some odd
colors though.

"The finger is still attached to me, it's not -that- serious but skin was
pulled up from one knuckle toowards the other. Leaving me without the
ability to bend it or have any pressure on it. I'm hoping to give it a little
"test" later this evening."
Darren, take the weekend (at least) and give your finger a good rest and
chance to heal. We'll miss seeing your work, but better to take it easy
than rush it.

"The wife thought I was trying to get my wedding ring off in a permanent way..."-Matt
Yeah, -that- is just like a woman! Their first thought -isn't- one of sympathy, "no" it's "What's he up to!". I was running late one day, in what was then our new house when we lived "down south" and ran down the stairs. I lept the the last four stairs, which wasn't a problem in our "old" house but I caught the overhang off my crown (Top of my head, I'm not royalty!) and dropped like a stone. What was the Mrs' first remark? "Oh are you alright?" , "Fffffffff, that looked sore!"??? None of these it was, "You don't like the wall paper do you?". All that in between fit's of giggles. I was courting consciousness on the floor while trying to drag myself to the door.

Right now there's a lot of things to do around the house. That and we have our neice staying for a sleep over with her cousins, our daughters. So I wont know ho confident I'll be to have a go until later. I need to know that I can at least doodle...I need to do that at least. I wont cope if I can't at least doodle.

Darren,
sorry to hear about your digit. Might as well just throw it in the
skillet with garlic and butter.
( a liitle cannibal humor there)
Take care of the hands, first rule of the artist.
Hope youre ok.

Thanks Anthony, Chris.
Funny thing is it's the same finger on my drawing hand that when I was 18 somone dropped a commercial donut fryer on while it was switched on. The shelf beneathe it tore skin as well, removing it down to the bone. Luckily for me the outer casing was -so- hot that it also cauterised the wound as it sliced! That was a killer because I thought I had lost all dexterity in that finger and started to switch to holding my pencil in my thumb and second finger. Never gained enough fine motor control to ink like that.
