Hey Darren, do you count Adam Hughes among your inspiration!!?? How about JB?? I would be curious to know who you and everyone else count among their influences. |

I've concluded that -everyone- influences me in some shape or form. I might see something that I hate and reel from it, subsequently never use those techniques myself because of my knee-jerk reaction. However, I might see something I like and think, "I never thought of doing that" and give it a go. It could just be as simple as being inspired to pick up the pencil and draw.
I credit John (Byrne) with teaching me the bulk of my knowledge in this field, simply because I spent the bulk of my formative years tracing, swiping, copying and eventually emmulating him. I am a great admirer of Garcia Lopez, Alex Toth, Kevin Nowlan and "yes" Adam Hughes.
You can't mention comics without also recognising people, like Gill Kane, Jack Kirby, Steve Dikto, Joe Kubert and John Buscema.
Barry Windsor-Smith, Brian Bolland, Art Adams, Alan Davis, Neal Adams, Milo Manara and Byran Hitch all have roles in the wierd mixture that comprise things that I like and wished I could achieve.
But second -only- to John in a direct influence would be Paul Neary (Inker) who took plenty of time to help me out. Fellow Byrne Board member Gordon Somers, also exerted a significant amount of influence, and still does, as we grew up together "jamming" drawing and sketching together.
Besides John, Paul and Gordon the rest appear in no specific order and is in no way a complete list.
