Andrew: How color-fast are these color PITT pens?

---

I thought the same -- then remembered that JB uses the black pens pens in his comic work and commissions. I'm guessing all the colors hold up fine.

It's the cigar that makes it for me.

Hopefully Chris Ryall has his eyes on this thread and is going to commission a series based on this doodle.  I have no idea what setting this woman resides in, or what kind of story she'd be involved in, but I want to read it.

(Serious questions for JB: have any of your original series started with a character doodle?  To the extent there is a pattern, where do you start when you're coming up with a new series?)

Altho there are often plenty of doodles that accompany the birth of a series or character, I can't recall anything that actually began with a doodle that was, initially, just a doodle.

I'm thinking "Nick Fury had a granddaughter in the future who's still fighting the good fight..."  Interesting use of the medium here.

Love it. I like the way that even in this single image with no context there's still an implied narrative.

Nice! There's definitely something about this image that brings to mind Klaus Janson.

I can see that. Klaus' more recent work, with the finer lines, as opposed to his early days when the ink was much more thick and organic.

It looks great. It does look European, something about the watercolour effect, possibly due to the fact that the colouring is not done by a specialized colorist because remember they do everything themselves here, the really good ones I mean, even the handwritten lettering...well, now I want the book of her!
